“Caution”

We should have read through all of the reviews on tripadvisor before booking this hotel but we were staying here at the request of a few other family members to celebrate an anniversary. Our room was entered while we were asleep like a few others have pointed out and our money and a few other things were taken. The manager of the hotel was of no help with calling the police and said we should have kept our money in the safe which we would have never thought to do while we were locked in the room. The manager showed us a sign on the restaurant side of the lobby that cautions keeping your windows locked at night but our windows were closed and locked. Very terrifying experience to realize when you wake up that people were in the room with you while you were asleep.

“Spectactular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

This place was beautiful and close to local markets, beach bars, awesome beach, shops, bus stops to Old Town Mykonos list goes on. The reason I say local markets/stores is that my sense of travel is very keen and go off the beaten path. I can't really describe travelling anywhere in Greece you just have too experience yourself and create an opinion. Hotel was great and staff very helpfull and freiendly. Food was awesome and what you expect from a serve yourself deal. Plenty of fruit, greek yogurt. Don't expect the food to be the same as home because you are in a "different country"!

Room Tip: Just go with no expectations, trips are what you make of them!!!! Travel to Greek Islands towards en...

“Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly staff”

I parrot all the good things people have said about this hotel. It is without doubt an 'art' hotel and the lobby areas, bar, dining room are all beautiful with fascinating artwork. A very nice pool area too. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a short walk to the best beach (believe me, we drove around to all of them....this is the best). As for some of the reviews that say it is a 'steep hill' from the beach to the hotel, that is simply not true. It is a slight grade. The Atlantides restaurant on the beach has good value. Although the staff at the hotel were very nice, I have one complaint. We told the front desk clerk we wanted to rent ATVs. She phoned for us and said they would be delivered at 9 a.m. At 9 a.m., the guy arrived and asked our husbands to accompany him outside. We thought they were gone to inspect the vehicles and sign the paperwork. Wrong. We didn't see them again until after 10 a.m. The guy had them hop in his car and drove them to his office, which was on the other side of Mykonos town. He then let them loose with an inadequate map to find their own way back to the hotel. We decided not to let this spoil our day, so hopped on the backs and went riding. After going down a steep hill to our first beach we were dismayed to find the ATVs would not make it back up with 2 people on them. They were only 50 ccs, about the same as our lawnmower. After taking turns walking the long way up the steep hill, we returned the ATVs to the dealership, after looking for it for an hour, and switched them both for a car. We told them they could come to the hotel and pick it up....we weren't returning it. Why on earth the hotel would set us up with a rental outfit so far away from the hotel when there were several a 3 minute walk away remains a mystery. I suppose they were related.... this was the only drawback for this hotel.

“Beautiful quiet hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We stayed at the Pelican Bay Art Hotel for 3 nights in Sept. 2011. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. There was a nice terrace with a table and a couple of chairs that afforded a beautiful view with lovely breezes. If you are an early riser, it is wonderful to sit on the terrace and hear the roosters calling to each other in the early morning. The location is outside of Mykonos Town which means that it is peaceful. The bus stop is close by for the 10 minute trip into town. There is a lovely beach a few minutes walk away. The hotel offers a nice pool with padded deck chairs to while away a few hours soaking up the sun. There is a bar at poolside with a simply delightful young lady bartending or taking your food orders. TIP: Try the hotel pizza and/or their garden salads...both are excellent. The buffet breakfast which was included in our trip package offered plentiful options and was delicious. Don't forget to check out the hotel gym and sauna. A wonderful hotel that I will return to, on my next trip to Mykonos.

“Surprisingly delightful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We enjoyed the hotel enormously. We were given a choice of rooms and selected an upper level room with a commanding view of the sea from the balcony. Our room was simply furnished but complete with a frig and television. The pool was fantastic with an adjacent bar and breakfast room. The breakfast was more than adequate with several hot items, lots of pastries, breads, and fresh fruit too--liked it even after six days. Staff was very conscientious about replenishing the buffet. The crowing of the roosters, clucking of the hens and tidy vegetable gardens of the neighbors added to the ambience.

We found this hotel to be an excellent value compared to the high prices of Cavo Tago, the Elysium and other in town hotels that we previously stayed in. The bus into town, only 1.60 euros, leaves every 30 minutes with the last bus at 3:00 am. Bus stop and water taxis only a 10 minute walk from our hotel. In town hotels cost 3x what we paid at Platys Gialos!

Yes, there were families with children who were actually very well behaved and not annoying in the least--ok even likeable. Met many nice people here from all over the world--nice to be able to gab in a couple of languages. The rooms have safes, a sign is posted in the lobby about securing valuables--we did not have any secuirity issues. We loved this hotel and will return the next time we are in Mykonos. Thanks to all the staff for your kindness. Airport pickup and delivery is a bonus too.

Room Tip: The higher up the better.
