This hotel was all we were hoping for after reading previous reviews. We stayed just three nights and received a warm welcome form the owners who were very attentive with us and all the guests. We had previously stayed in a similar positioned hotel in Malcesine further up the lake so we had requested a room facing the lake with balcony so we could enjoy the evening sun. Unfortunately when we arrived we were given a room facing the back off the hotel so we asked if we could change rooms. We were then offered a room for 2 nights at the front but would need to move for the last night as other guests were arriving and booked into our room. We agreed to do this but were informed on the second day we could stay where we were. We were happy with this and were able to relax for 3 days. The noise from the busy main road wasn't a problem for us. The room was nicely furnished and very clean. The air conditioning was not as effective as we expected but the weather was exceptionally hot during our stay. In the room there was a file full of information on what to do in and around the town and free unlimited internet access for guests. Breakfasts were wonderful with plenty of choice and served until 10.30. As the hotel did not have a restaurant service we booked the half board arrangement via the hotel on the first night. This was at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the lake. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as the view but at 13 euros each for pasta starter, chicken and chips and coffee was reasonable value! There are many other excellent value restaurants with freshly prepared food so we didn't visit this restaurant again. Hotel is in an ideal location for the harbour and ferry and a short walk to a very small beach. Unfortunately the lake water was high during our visit with little room to sunbathe. As the hotel doesn't have a pool or a sun terrace we were glad to have our balcony to sit out on. We would recommend taking the 35 min ferry across to Maderno where there were sandy beaches. The hotel has sun chairs and beds for you to take and use. We drove further up the coast and found a quiet spot to sit by the lake. The hotel has a fitness centre and spa but we didn't use them. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a short break - Torri Del Benaco is a lovely town, with a relaxing atmosphere. Thew hotel staff appear to go out of their way to help their guests. The place was spotless.
