“So relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We just spent 3 days at Royal Palm, and it was so relaxing - we didn't want to leave! The unit, 11A had absolute beach views from the front deck and views over the cove off the side bedroom deck. It was breezy and bright - had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend - even down to the wine chiller and champagne glasses!
The apartment had great facilities - flat screen TV's, DVD player, Austar, even a Wii with games - but in the end all we wanted to do was look at the view - absolute beach front with no roads to cross is just a dream - the sparkling new pool is beautiful and just out the gate to the beach - wonderful!
The apartment is air conditioned (living room) but being on the corner it is so breezy I can't imagine you'd ever use it...we had warm days outside but as soon as we got to the apartment it was cool.
This is a great low key, no fuss place to stay - the staff were so helpful - it is all secure - it was our little oasis!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner apartment - especially the "A' configuration - breezy and open - I'd r...

“Great Family Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed for 3 nights in January '12 for a last minute stay, and it provided a fantastic low-key holiday for our whole family.

While the 2 bedroom apartment was rather dated would welcome an overhaul, it was generous in size and provided everything we needed including full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The kitchen had the largest range of pots/pans/boards/cutlery/graters etc... that I have ever seen, and the laundry included everything including pegs (but not consumables).

The big win for our family was the large heated pool (with slide) which is apparently quite new. Our children are quite young and are not yet confident swimmers, so the fact the pool offered a gently sloping depth was much utilised. It rained daily whilst we were there, but in better weather we would have taken advantage of the BBQs that surrounded the pool.

The property is beachfront with no roads to cross, so we could enjoy the beach without much effort or worry.

With the airport 2 suburbs away, planes flew quite close and constantly overhead, but our plane-starved young kids thought this more of a benefit than anything.

The staff we met/spoke to were all extremely welcoming, courteous and seemingly genuine.

Palm Beach is more old Gold Coast "suburb" than Surfers Paradise "glitz" so it is very laid back. This in turn means less options for eating out etc... and we found most of the closest restaurants took only cash (not even offer EFTPOS), so it pays to be prepared.

“Fantastic Mid winter break”

Stayed at Royal Palms in June 11, absolutly loved it and WILL go back this year!. On arrival I buzzed the manager (we arrived after hours) who came down to help me find my key, he was happy, courteous and explained everything to me before leaving me on my way. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 and 9. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the second to last floor. The views were to die for! we spent most of our time out on the balcony admiring them!. The room was tastefully decorated, nice and clean and well appointed. The pool was a real hit with the kids with its slide, spa and large size. It is in a great location, if you walk out the front you are on the beach, or you can stroll along the path down to the estuary or the childrens playground where there is also a large grassed area a nd a cafe for that all important coffee. We got the room on a special winter rate and honestly it was money well spent on a short relaxing break.

“Good Family Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Stayed here for 3 nights in November 2011. Travelled with family and had x2 standard 2 bedroom apartments. The reason why I give this hotel a 4 and not a 5 is for 2 reasons only. 1) I had booked both apartments in September through expedia, I was traveling with a large family, (7 adults and 3 kids), I automatically assumed that we would have rooms right next to each other or at least on the same floor, bur we had one on the 8th floor and one on the 19th floor, which proved to be a little painful at times. 2) the carpark is quite hard to maneuver in and out of especially with a people mover. But other than those two things, the place is perfect for a family holiday stay and we absolutely loved it. The pool area is fantastic, our kids were in the literally all day and couldn't get enough of it, I love that the area isn't crazy busy and it's away from the hustle and bustle of surfers paradise but yet it's close enough to go there for nightlife etc if you want to. The apartments didn't have aircon which was ok because sea breeze was enough to keep cool. The views from each apartment were magnificent. The decor in one of those apartments needed updating a little but it was still fine, we loved it. Staff were so accommodating and absolutely lovely.. We loved our stay and will be back in 2012.

Room Tip: All rooms here have fantastic sea views :)

“Great family holiday”

This was our second time at Royal Palm Resort and have just booked a third holiday. The location was exceptional, right on the beach, no highways to cross, and airport close by. Facilities were excellent with staff friendly and helpful. Our apartment was clean, nicely furnished and a generous size, something you appreciate with two kids. The newly renovated pool and surrounds were beautiful. Can't wait for our next holiday. Would highly recommend.
