“Good value, good location and charming hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

Just completed a 2 night stay at Mermaid Beachside B&B using a Deals voucher.

We have been a little wary of what you actually get for your money when redeeming promotional hotel deals (poor service, room in basement without toilet/shower, towels etc - you know the ones), but our experience was wonderful. The proprietor Ros was charming and very helpful. Our bedroom was the 'Australiana Room' and was presented very clean, tidy and fresh. Breakfast was good also. We had some interesting conversation with the other guests each morning. Our deal also included a dinner for 2 at a nearby Indian restaurant where the food and service was excellent.

A great place in a great location.

“Not bad, not great either.”

My husband and I stayed here using a Deals voucher. We checked in about 5.30pm. Our room was pretty small with no ensuite, which was fine because the toilet/bath was clean and we only had to share on the second night. The room itself was a bit small, which was ok, but I think our sheets might not have been changed because I could smell perfume on the pillowcase, and my husband and I spent pretty much the whole night scratching ourselves because we were bitten by god-knows-what. The breakfast was nothing to shout about, but the Indian restaurant for the dinner voucher we were given was great, fantastic food.
The proprietor was not the friendliest, but I think she was going through some personal issues so we just acknowledged her when we saw her.

“GREAT - Used deals voucher”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

Great value for money. We had a mid-week stay on the deals voucher. The cheese platter and wine were a refreshing accompaniment. We also used the Indian voucher and had an enjoyable meal.
The room (Australiana) was well presented with a beautiful ensuite. The room was tidied, bed made and bins emptied daily.
Ros was very hospitable and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and I particularly enjoyed the fruit and yoghurt.
Would recommend for the money spent!!!!!!!!!!!!

“You get what you pay for”

We stayed here using the Deals.com voucher as it seems others have too.

Our room was small but adequate, we knew we were to have a shared bathroom but did not expect it to have a door right next to the bed! We woke up everytime someone went in, so did not have a great's night sleep. Door to the room did not latch, so could not be locked, though we accidentally found it would catch if you slammed it, though this was not ideal. Bin wasn't emptied, nor bed made. Website also mentions secure parking and free wifi, neither exists.

Roz was helpful in coming up with things to do in the area.

In summary - you get what you pay for. It was ok for the price of the voucher used, but looking at their ordinary rates online, I think you could get better value for money elsewhere.

“We recently stayed using a Deals Voucher and we had a wonderful time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

The cheese platter & Moscato were a great start to our weekend away. Our room was most comfortable and well presented. We loved the fresh fruit salad each morning with our breakfast which Roz told us Michael made fresh each evening. We had some very interesting conversations with Roz at breakfast as we had holidayed in some of the same parts of the world. It was the best valued weekend away we have ever enjoyed
