It looks like the photos online and the reviews must be for the 2 bed apartments. My fiancé and I stayed in a one bedder on 1st floor. Special occasion so I thoroughly checked the website pics and reviews. Very disappointed. They offered us an upgrade at additional charge to a 2 bedroom but I feel that the 1 bedders should really be up to the same standard. Also, the whole floor stunk like cigarette smoke. Red carpet in the whole apartment. Next time I think we will look at a hotel for these prices rather than an apartment.

Thank you for taking the time to review our business. I am disappointed that the apartment did not live up to your expectations and I apologise for the dissatisfaction you experienced. Your comments on your dislike of the colour of the carpet will be passed along to the appropriate people for consideration on the matter.
I sincerely apologise for the smell of cigarette smoke you noticed. Oscar on Main is a non-smoking building and the issue has been addressed with the offending guest. During the peak season it can be difficult to allocate the best room for everyone and I do apologise that you found your apartment unsuitable. We do have some lovely one bedroom apartments on the higher levels which may not have been available during your stay.
If you would like to give Oscar on Main a second chance then please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to show you through the available apartments.

“High quality and value for money”
I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at the Oscar on Main.
1. Personalised and extremely helpful service from reception ( Mary was wonderful )
2. Very spacious, clean and modern apartment with terrific view outdoors
3. Situated on a quiet, peaceful street (bonus to avoid crowd)

“Quality accommodation in nice location.”
I have just had my second stay at Oscars and both times the quality of the apartments exceeded my expectations. Has indoor and (small) outdoor pool and excellent bBQ area plus tennis court. Has nice Restuarant area on adjacent st. Great for families. Has no other onsite facilities like games room or vending or food. Near to Surfers Paradise , could walk but bus quicker. I will probably stay again as the setup suits ideally for my family.

“Disappointing”
Booked and paid deposit in February 2011 for a stay in January 2012. Received confirmation for an apartment "level 14" or above but given level 12 when arrived. Told they "just had to fit everyone in" when queried this.
Apartment was tired. The toilet/shower in main bedroom leaked and the air-conditioning stopped working (thankfully) on the last day.
The staff seemed pleasant but totally not interested in complaints about the place. They seemed to have an attitude of "make do" with what you get which is appropriate when camping but not when paying peak price for these apartments.
Location is excellent and quiet.

I am sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with the apartment you were allocated. While every effort is made to accommodate requests for specific apartments, unfortunately sometimes we do need to move reservations around. In regards to your booking, the views from the apartments on the 12th and 14th level do not greatly vary and with this in mind the move was made.
Maintenance issues are always attended to as soon as possible as we understand what an inconvenience they can be to the guest. During peak season the high demand on facilities can result in temporary failure which can be easily rectified once reported to a staff member. I sincerely apologise if you perceived the staff response as a 'make-do attitude' as it certainly isn't the standard we adhere to here at Oscar on Main.

“Very spacious and well appointed”
I was extremely impressed with my stay at Oscar. The rooms are HUGE and very modern and comfortable. The kids loved the option of both indoor and outdoor pools and it's only a 5 minute walk to Main Beach, which is much less crowded than Surfers, very well suited for families. I would recommend Oscar to everyone and may well stay there again in the future.
