The hotel is quite nice. It is situated just in front of the sea, far from the hustle and bustle of the main street with the night clubs. The hotel itself and it´s territory are very clean. All the floors are from glazed tile, so it creat a lot of noise. And if we didn´t hear our neighbours from the adjorning rooms we heard everything that was done above our room (someone walking on highheeled shoes, moving a chair etc.) Also the doors of all the rooms of all the floors look on the same huge "corridor", staying at your room you can hear when every door is shut, and the empty space of this "corridor" only reinforces the sound.
I didn´t like the lack of facilities for children, no playground, no gameroom. It´s difficult to move with a pram, because inside you have lifts, but outside nothing that would help you get over the stairs.
The food was good and the dishes various.
The best thing about this hotel is it´s stuff. Everybody are very pleasant, helpful, talkative (in the good sense of the word).
The worst thing is the place where Astir Palace is situated. I mean the village of Laganas itself. It´s too touristic. Nothing authentic. You can easily find mexican, australian, british cuisine, but it´s quite problematic to taste something greek. Or maybe we just went to wrong restaurants. But there are no locals living there, so the same place you could find, say, in Egypt or Turkey.
But if you need the sun and the sea, than all this authentic thing is not very important
