We were a bit worried by some of the comments on here after we had just booked our 2 week holiday for the end of August 2011 but thankfully we didn't have anything to worry about as we had a great time! Ok, we stayed in the main apartments which are set around the pool and bar called Splash. We were told by some of the guests who visit year after year that when they get really busy, some guests are put in the next door block called Razis Erieta Studios (as opposed to just Razis Studios) which are apparently not anywhere near as nice - actually when I checked my booking it said we should have been in Erieta so looks like we were lucky there. Our apartments were basic but clean enough - we knew at 2 * we shouldn't expect too much so we were happy enough. The apartments are owned by Christos who is about 65 and doesn't speak much English so was a little hard work - luckily though, his son-in-law George owns the pool and bar (Splash) and he speaks very good English and is so lovely and helpful - and really makes sure you have a good time and are ok. We would go back just to see George. It's a small, family run setup about a 10 min walk to the main "strip" - loads of shops, restaurants and bars all within an easy walk - George recommended lots of good places to eat which was fab. The beach is a little further but still walkable - and once you're there, it goes on for miles! The rooms are cleaned on Sun & Thurs which was a little infrequent but still, we didn't really mind for the money we paid. There are two floors; ground and first - we were on the first floor which was a lot hotter as the sun really heated the roof in the daytime - air con was about 7 euros per night so we didn't bother as our budget was tight and it was hot but ok - just take some mozzie stuff and you'll be ok to leave the doors open to your balcony on the top floor - wouldn't do that on the ground floor though as it might be unsafe obviousy - not that we saw crime at the apartments at all. There were beggars and pickpockets in the strip preying on the drunk louts but we were fine. We had an amazing two weeks here and would go back but make sure we were in the main apartments, not the Erieta as we were warned away from these by those that know. Lots of people return to see George year after year so that says a lot! We will be seeing him again - he's a star. George's tip for couples/older people was to go mid Augsut onwards as it's quieter with less youngsters/groups.
