“I want one.”

I spent a week at the apartment as a base for a few days work and a few days leisure. My apartment had NE aspect with ocean views and balcony. A great way to welcome the new day. It was well appointed, clean and tidy. The building is probably 50 metres from the beach and very close to the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Casino and many good restaurants. Be aware the NE facing apartment may get quite hot in summer as even in June (Winter) I found the room seemed to become rather stuffy by about mid-day. I thought the cost to hire the apartment was very good value. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again.

“absolutely brilliant - amazing value for money”

From the moment we left our 5 star hotel in Surfers and came own the coast to the Talisman we were impressed. Unlike the hotel we were greeted by the friendliest staff who let us drop our bags in the lobby and gave us our room 2 hours before we were supposed to check in due having to check out of the hotel. They simply couldnt do more for us. Having booked the apartments on the recommendation of my sister who is a local, we did it all online with Wayne, told him our wish list for the room and he gave us what we considered to be the best room in the block - No 72. Amazing views, quiet, clean, complmentary dishwasher powder and washing up liquid as well as a washing poweder for the machine to see us through until we could get to the shops which were all of 300m away - yet because of the position (right on the beach but set back from the main road through Broadbeach) it was was always quiet but such a great walk to the shops and loads of restaurants. The park to the side of the apatments had a market on the 1 and 3rd sundays of the month i think and it was great to wander round before heading for a coffee at the cafes and body body later in the morning. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were faultlessly clean and very warm and my sister and her family were allowed to join us - absolutely no problem visiting us and using the facilities which we thought was excellent. Overall, we won't be staying anywhere else when we visit from the UK again. Forget 5 star hotels and kids running up and down corridors, lifts whirling morning, noon and night and dressing up just to go and get a newspaper - you simply won't beat the Talisman if you wanta clean, spacious, low key holiday with high spec care and attention. Thank you for making our stay truely memorable and for all your help with buses and general local information. Simply can't praise you or thank you enough xx

stayed for one week with two teenage boys. South-east facing apartment on 21st floor. Excellent views. 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants. Beach straight across the road. Very spacious two bedroom unit. Great pool area used everyday. Would definitely stay there again in future.

“A bit disappointing”

My wife and I stayed at the Talisman for 3 nights and were a little surprised at the comments of previous reviewers. The Talisman is perfectly located at Broadbeach, directly opposite the beach but inside it is extremely outdated.
Positives:
1. Location is absolute beachfront and close to shops and restaurants. Great beach views.
2. Helpful staff.
3. Clean pool, BBQ area and full size tennis court.
4. Park and playground opposite for young kids.
4. Secure onsite parking.

Negatives:
1. Dated/odd smelling apartment – (#35 on 11th Floor) – very old, uncomfortable lounge, hessian/matted floor covering in bedroom (very harsh on the feet), old/tired bathroom with poor lighting, no exhaust fan. (No hair drier provided).
Windows need a good clean.

2. Hotel hall ways very out dated and in need of a face lift.
3. Reception area only open in the mornings on weekends.
4. Small pool area with limited seating.

Recommendation:
1. Ideal property for the 40 plus age group and young families.
2. Definitely not for couples looking for a nice hotel with a modern feel.

“Love this place - will be back in October.”

This is our second stay at the Talisman and it was equally as delightful the second time around. According to "the lady in the pool" - the Talisman building was the first high rise in Broadbeach built 30 years ago and caused a bit of an uproar in its time. Now it's very rare to see a site without a high rise building on it in Broadbeach.

Although Talisman is one of the older properties, the advantage is that it has prime spot - smack on the beach with superb views from every apartment regardless of the aspect. It also has the added benefit of being big. The living areas are huge, the kitchens are a decent size and the master bedroom comes with a dressing room/walk in wardrobe and en suite.

It's not super modern and if you're after the urban funky feel don't stay here - but you'd be missing out. If you can look past the 80s arches and the smokey mirror, you'll be wowed. We've stayed in the SE and the NE facing apartments now and honestly couldn't say which is better. NE you get all day sun - SE you get water views as far as the eye can see. The kitchens have more gadgets than my own kitchen at home (coffee bean grinder anyone?) Each apartment is individually owned so they vary but we've never been disappointed. We stayed in 36 this time on the 12th floor and had a brand new lounge suite and flat screen TV and DVD player (great for entertaining kids).

Location couldn't be better - walking distance to the supermarket and all important bottle store. If you're a keen walker it's a 10 -15 minute walk to Pacific Fair aka shopping mecca for us mall deprived kiwis.

The facility itself has a heated pool and large spa pool. BBQs that can be booked and tennis courts. Plus it's right next to several playgrounds so heaps for the kids to do. Free parking, washer & dryer in each apartment, and great value for money. And before I forget - someone has mentioned no wi-fi but I had no problem locating a wi-fi connection that you pay for and got high speed broadband on my laptop for the week we were there.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else - it makes holidays so easy. We love it and are already planning another trip there later this year.
