“Happy with our comfortable stay. Great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

I have recently spent 7 nights here with my teenage daughter in a one bedroom apartment (January 2011). I was a little apprehensive after reading previous negative feedback but the location right across the road from Jupiters casino was perfect and the price was very good in comparison to other apartments in Broadbeach. We found the staff all friendly and helpful – when the hotplates in our first room did not work and an electrician was not available for another day or two, the management offered us another room on the same floor (level 5) straight away (a nicer refurbished apartment as well). Both apartments were clean, comfortable and quite spacious, with separate bedroom/ensuite and fairly basic cooking facilities and utensils, etc. – more than sufficient for our needs. All rooms have a small balcony to relax on as well. While rooms are not serviced daily as in a hotel, fresh towels, tea, coffee, etc. are freely available from the office. There is a nice outdoor pool and spa and also a separate BBQ area (we didn’t utilise the BBQ as it did not appear to be cleaned while we stayed there and you must get a key from the office to access the gas – office shuts at 6pm). Didn’t access the games room so can’t comment.

Our second apartment was located closer to the highway end of the building and while traffic noise was louder it was not an issue to us and certainly didn’t disturb our sleep. Air con and ceiling fans kept the rooms comfortable during our stay so our windows were shut at night. It was an easy short stroll into the shops at Broadbeach and also to the patrolled beach. We even walked up along the beach one afternoon into Surfers Paradise in about 35 minutes. There is under cover parking but we didn’t have a car – the bus service on the Gold Coast is fabulous and you can get just about anywhere by public transport at a reasonable cost – bus stops are nearby on the highway and also a big bus interchange right across the road at Pacific Fair shopping centre. Overall, we were very happy with the accommodation for the price and location and would certainly consider staying here again in the future.

“Worst travel experience”

I stayed here with my boyfriend and two friends. upon arrival we were lectured about how if we carried on like children is would not be tollerated by the manager. Staff were incredibly condescending and rude. We had originally booked a room on the 7th (top) floor in one of the two story apartments, and upon check in were advised that we were being "upgraded" to "superior room" which was 2 stories below, mouldy, water damaged with broken appliances. I informed staff of the water damage to ensure bond would not be with held for damage not caused by us, and when i expressed concern about the mould the receptionist simply said "we are aware of the state of your room". Security continually knocked on our door to ensure there were no "unauthorised" visitors, and it felt as if the manager was watching us. I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone, despite its locality to the beach and restaurants. There are plenty more appartments in the surrounding streets with better quality rooms. Furthermore, after our stay we were informed that the bond would be put into our allocated bank accounts, however $90 each was withheld due to "1 broken bed slat". This damage must have occured during a previous visit, as we ended up having to bring in an air mattress to sleep on because of the incredibly uncomfortable "double bed" (two singles pushed together), and the other guests slept on the fold out sofa bed which had no slats.

Lastly the BBQ area that was "welcome to all guests" had no gas, and after informing reception they told us that they had no replacement tanks.

Incredibly disgusted with the hotel. Would not reccommend it even as a last resort.

“I will never go there again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2010

Whether it be for leisure or business I will never stay there again. The room was dirty. Mold on the bedroom window and the bathroom ceiling. Dirty cloth mark smeared all over the kitchen table, items on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed up from previous visitors. The toaster was broken and too filthy to contemplate eating toast that was cooked in it. They did provide a new toaster after I mentioned it and said they'd send someone to clean the room but all they did was wipe the mold off the shower ceiling. Nothing else was cleaned.

The blinds were in poor condition and did not block out the light.

It is on the highway and does not have double glazed windows so is extremely noisy.

It was impossible to sleep. Stayed one night to try it but my four colleagues and I all decided we needed to move from there the very next day at our own expense.

It was booked online and there was no refund for the nights we didn't stay.

It has a 3 or 31/2 star rating but I think it is more like 11/2 stars.

“A perfect weekend ruined. Disgusting.. Never again!!!!”

Room was poorly maintained and dirty. Furniture and decor throughout the apartment was broken, incuding the TV which did not work at all. The staff were extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending. When feedback was provided to the staff as a courtesy to the next guests occupying that room, it was immediately insinuated that we were responsible and liable!! A perfect weekend ruined by the treatment of the staff towards paying 'guests'. Will never stay here again, and despite the location would not recommend this motel to anyone. Shame!

“Rudest staff i've ever encountered!”

The staff, especially the female manager were incredible rude! i've stayed at hundreds of hotels and apartments all over the world and have always been treated well and respectfully. these people treated us like second-rate citizens. the worst service i've ever ever encountered! if you want to enjoy your holiday without being "watched", "looked down on" and "harrassed", then believe me there are many many other much better places to stay.
