“Best of Three”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Mantra was the best of the three 4-star plus accommodation we booked on Gold and Sunshine Coasts and the best value. Our 2-bedroom apartment on 4th floor had sea views with very small balconies. Decor was modern with tv in both lounge and main bedroom. Two bathrooms, one small but pleasant. Our apartment in the north tower was very quiet. Kitchen had basic equipment but we weren't there to cook, so it didn't bother us at all. Staff were friendly and helpful at the front desk. As the weather was windy and a bit cooler, the heated indoor pool and sauna were great. Very handy location and compared to our next so-called 4.5 star stop on the Sunshine Coast Mantra won hands down for quality and value.

“great location great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

We stayed from 14/10/11 to 17th . My review based soley on the accommodation as we had to little time to use other hotel facilities. Good size rooms, seperate bedroom, air con. I agree with some other reviewers that some furnishings are a little bit tired, but still comfortable. So long as it is clean then its no big deal. We found our room very clean & my partner is a clean freak. Bathroom is a bit small but functional although a plug that actually fitted the bathroom sink would have been nice. ( that might be intentional). She thought the bed was unsleepable while I thought it was fine . You can't please everyone. I had read some reviews before we booked that there were some security issues with the car park. Having now stayed there I can see that it is as secure as you can make a car parking area. Great location, 5 minutes walk to heart of Broadbeach, Casino, Pacific fair & Convention centre. I would like to find something major to complain about, but I cant. Great value for money.

“A big disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

I am sad to say our stay was a big disappointment. The room had great views however the sofa bed was very uncomfortable, the kitchen only had the bare minimum in equipment and the bathrooms were not very clean. If you used a bowl for salad then you had to use a jug for the other food to serve. Actually the TV unit was covered in dust and furniture old and run down. Blankets in the cupboards were dirty and smelled awful. I felt like the place needed a good scrub. The pool area was very nice and the proximity to the shops across the road was handy. Staff were friendly and helpful although the cleaners of the rooms should be more thorough. Very disappointed with the Mantra on this one. I wish I'd paid that little bit extra to stay somewhere else. The bare minimum offered at this place was annoying.

“It's not that bad!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

OK! We stayed here mostly for 2 reasons. Reason 1 they have a wheelchair accessible bathroom room and reason 2 we got 'Pats Mates Rates' so it was cheap.
This holiday was different from any we have taken because we took our 80+ year old Grandparents with us. Firstly we found it really difficult to find information on accessible rooms via the web, but by calling both the Mantra call center and the hotel direct all our questions were answered.
We were a bit doubtful about booking here after reading the reviews on trip advisor but the rooms were not that bad. The location was awesome if you like shopping or gambling (right opposite Pacific Fair and Jupiters Casino).
So here is our review, our room first...
We stayed in the top floor in the center tower. It is suprising how noisy the traffic is, this place is right on the highway, however after 8 nights I was used to the traffic. There was 3 of us in the room, 2 adults 1 child. Our master bedroom was very spacious and had a balcony overlooking the river and pacific fair (no balcony furniture here though). Our bathroom was TINY!!!! Shower water pressure was fine, mirror size fine, floor space...TINY!!! The second bedroom was also a good size, had 2 single beds and a small balcony. This second bathroom was more spacious than ours and also had a shower/bath, not just a shower like ours. The lounge joint dining area was fine for 3 of us but may be cramped for 4 or more, also a balcony here (ocean and mountain views), this one had furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed but we had to adjust the fridge temperature to make things cold! Also because the washer and dryer are in the kitchen, it was very noisy at night in the lounge with the washing machine going.
And the second room with the accessible bathroom...
This room was a mirror image of ours, also in the central tower but on the 2nd floor. The only difference being the master bathroom was massive, as it needs to be. There was no chair in the shower but a wooden seat that folds down off the wall (could have taken a plastic seat off the balcony if we wanted to...no view on this balcony) This room had 3 adults in it, wouldn't have wanted 4! Also, they found the couch and seats uncomfortable and spent a lot of time on their beds, which were comfy. They also thought the room was a little dated but were happy overall.
So, yes the rooms are dated, the finishing touches aren't there but the rooms were clean and had everythign we needed. We would stay here again...if the price was right :)

“Nice but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

I can only comment on the room i stayed in but it was only ok at best. The furniture was dated, the kind bed was two beds and the bathroom reminded me of our family bathroom 20 years back.

That said, the location was a short walk to the conference centre, shops and beach. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and practicle. The staff were helpful and polite.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floors and facing the beach.
