“Great place to get away”

Over the past years we have stayed at this place several times. Each time we stay here it is as good if not better than the time before. Great Inn with an even better location. People very nice and helpful. Not much going on around here for night life but if a great room at a good price in a wonderful location is your thing, you must try this place.

Room Tip: Bottom floor on the North end is our favorite.

“A charming, romantic place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We chose the Northport Pier Inn because of its location literally on the shore of Northport harbour; but it was the many amenities we discovered that charmed us. A boardwalk takes you either to the harbour, or down the steps to the shore where we watched the tide coming in. The rooms are large, bright and clean, although second floor accommodation does require a climb on outside stairs. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the waterfront. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The inn owner was actually the on-duty hostess the morning we checked out, as she was the hostess at The Boathouse restaurant next door, the previous evening. Cathy Bullied owns the restaurant too, and we recommend it highly. Although it was end of season and some menu items were limited, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the service could not have been warmer or friendlier. Our continental breakfast was served in a bright dining room, with many choices. The 'cook-your-own-egg' set up was different but interesting. If you're looking for a charming, romantic place to stay in PEI, on the ocean, for a night or two, then this is it.

Room Tip: Northport is a bit out of the way in PEI, but worth the side trip. You won't be disappointed wit...

“What a Gem!”

Welcoming staff, clean airy room, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, amazing ocean and harbour views from balcony, excellent breakfast, good gift shop...the only negative was that I couldn't stay longer. Northport/Alberton is a good location from which to explore Western PEI and day trips to the more touristy parts of the island can be easily accomplished using the Northport Inn as a base and relaxing haven after a busy day.

“I'm sure it's the best in PEI”

The rate is fantastic, the management so helpful, the rooms bright, airy and well thought out.
This is a lodge type hotel right on a seaweed beach with fantastic harbour views. We stayed in a 2nd floor room with a balcony on the corner. It was above expectations but could be a disability problem ( there are lower level rooms).
The breakfast was included and more than adequate with the attentive staff there to meet every request .
The restaurant in the building next door was run by the same management, an outdoor patio, great seafood, and a fabulous view of the fishing harbour.
Alberton doesn't have a lot to offer and the financial downturn is obvious but it's within a short drive to many other parts of the Island.
Anyone travelling to PEI should include a stay here

“Perhaps the Best Inn in PEI's North Cape Region”

This Inn would be worth a visit if only for it's stunning views of Cascumpec Bay and harbor; the view - including the lighthouse, great blue herons, and the soft harbor traffic of lobster boats and sailing craft - is visible from the patio or balcony of every one of it's very comfortable, beautifully appointed rooms. The Inn serves a pretty complete continental breakfast, including boiling your own hard boiled eggs. Their restaurant, the Boat Shop, shares the same views of the harbor - first-rate seafood. We ate there twice, and not for a lack of great seafood places on this end of the island. The menu actually lists the farms and fish markets where most of their food comes from. Save room for dessert - you have to try their blueberry bread pudding! The Northport Pier is an incredible value. You will be hard pressed to find a similarly beautiful place at their rate.
