We chose the Northport Pier Inn because of its location literally on the shore of Northport harbour; but it was the many amenities we discovered that charmed us. A boardwalk takes you either to the harbour, or down the steps to the shore where we watched the tide coming in. The rooms are large, bright and clean, although second floor accommodation does require a climb on outside stairs. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the waterfront. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The inn owner was actually the on-duty hostess the morning we checked out, as she was the hostess at The Boathouse restaurant next door, the previous evening. Cathy Bullied owns the restaurant too, and we recommend it highly. Although it was end of season and some menu items were limited, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the service could not have been warmer or friendlier. Our continental breakfast was served in a bright dining room, with many choices. The 'cook-your-own-egg' set up was different but interesting. If you're looking for a charming, romantic place to stay in PEI, on the ocean, for a night or two, then this is it.
Room Tip: Northport is a bit out of the way in PEI, but worth the side trip. You won't be disappointed wit...
