I used this for a work stop over for the second time and to be honnest it hasn't changed from. The first time several months back. I picked here because it appears to be good value for money. The rooms are clean, spacious and acceptable. Also worth noting the two most important things in relation to the rooms, the shower was good and the bed was comfy. The negative was the tv was poor, with intermittent signal and channels that didn't stay on channel.
The attached restaurant, if you can call it that, is fairly busy most of the time selling over priced, microwave cooked food. It doesn't look like it does on the picture. The staff are friendly but there are not enough of them. I ordered salmon and broccoli fish cakes to start and fish pie for mains. The fish cakes were over microwaved and contained vast amounts of broccoli. The mains contained copious amounts of potatoe mash and I had to search for the fish. The menu states "with steamed vegatables". Not likely. This was not, in my opinion, worth £8.15, sorry. Needless to say I didn't stop for desert, I got another drink and headed for my room. Breakfast was better quality however, this time I had two colleagues join me, for which I paid an additional £14 for, and we waited for over half an hour for our tea and coffee then another five minutes for our food to arrive, followed by our toast several minutes later, we were late for our customer meeting. This was consistent with my first stay back in Nov 11. In summary acceptable hotel, go out for dinner. Hope this is of use to you, thanks
