Located in a commanding postion, with some splendid views over the lake. Motorway junction just below the hotel, but no apparent noise problem. Passingnano quite a nice little town with cafes and at least one good restaurant, but it’s more than a mile form the hotel and the nearest taxi has to summoned from Perugia!
That’s the best one can say: otherwise Fawlty Towers and Hotel from Hell combined.
· Whole place dusty, untidy, dead flower arrangements
· Nobody on duty - had to ring handbell furiously many times and eventually rather weird woman owner would appear.
· No heating apart from turned up a/c units in rooms
· 60%+ light bulbs missing – whole place gloomy
· Building site immediately behind onto which half the rooms look
· No tonic water (but offered in drinks menu)
· Aperitif wine unspeakably awful and totally undrinkable
· White wine served with v. moderate evening meal was tepid. However dinner (also taken by a coach party of church people was only 12 euros, so to be fair, not bad value. 1st two courses OK, 2nd two dire.)
· Whole place unswept, dusty and uncared for.
· Shower a dribble, and took ages to get hot.
· Water system clanked and rumbled whenever anyone in the hotel used it.
· Breakfast dire. Watery juice / stale croissants + bread left out from day to day with a cloth over. Undrinkable coffee, tepid water for tea, small bowl of soggy cornflakes. That was it!
· Owner kept on touching one of us on the shoulder
· Fluorescent main light in bedroom
· Second night – OK a Sunday – place was in total darkness when we got back with no heating. When we returned from restaurant (not late, at 2150) owner met us in her pajamas.
· Worst of all: we were bitten in places that could only have come from the bedding. Still itching days later.
We couldn’t wait to get out of the place, and if we hadn’t prepaid with vouchers we’d probably not even have stayed one night let alone two. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in – ever.
