This hotel is about a mile out of Passignano and in a great location on the Lake. The website does mislead people. The hotel's grounds are available to campers and the charming hotel buildingl is surrounded by tents and trailers in the middle of summer. The pool is a nice pool, and good facilities for children with a slide, childrens area, whirlpool and sun loungers. It was busy on the first day of our stay - mainly with campers using the pool but not so busy on our second and third days. The breakfast is good - a nice selection of rolls, cooked meats, eggs and homemade pastries. Very helpful staff and the suites are very comfortable and nicely furnished. Good sized bedroom, and lounge area with sofa bed, table and cable tv. excellent bathroom. Two balconies - one at the back looking over the cars and trailers - the side (with a side on view of lake) - looks over the pool and grounds. All in all, it was fairly good value but not quite the same experience that the website would lead you to believe -given the proximity of the camping. Passignano is a great little town. If you are lucky enough to be in town on the last Sunday of July - the Palio delle Barche is a fantastic experience. The whole town comes out to celebrate the boat race. The four quarters of the town compete in a sort of triathlon of rowing, carrying a boat up the main steep hill in the town and more rowing. Four teams compete and the atmosphere is fantastic. It recreates a 14th century race. And the whole town celebrates afterwards. Great to see. We stayed for three nights in total on a trip through Tuscany and Umbria. Very convenient for visiting Perugia and Assisi (we covered this in one round day trip by car).
Non Solo Pizza on the waterfront does a great selection of pizzas!
