Following our stay in the sister property Casal ,mare this was awful. public areas were good but the bedroom number 3 was horrendous. bed was like a mortuary slab ,hand held shower bed linen so poor.Michaele the chef and Stephania the receptionist were superb but the property needed some big improvement. We checked out after 2 nights.
It is very expensive but not of a standard that matches the price.

A great time in a so quiet property, with such an amazing view on Marettimo island's during our romantic aperitive dinner on the terrace, overlooking beautiful sunset...
The owners Sonia and Blasco were very friendly and made us feel like at home. Our room was "SO CHIC" decorated ...and the staff did a pretty good job each day. It's a pity there is no swimming pool but we really enjoyed our day with Blasco and the other guests on the boat discovering the Egadi islands in such a "friendly" ambiance...We are thinking of coming back to discover Cas'almare next year and its private beach club.

My husband and I choose Casa Favonio as the second part of our honeymoon destination last year. We had high hopes after spending a fantastic week in Taormina, which was touristy but absolutely beautiful and our accommodation blew us away.

After a day long journey across Sicily we arrived at Casa Favonio tired, frazzled and ready to be pampered but this was not the case. The owners were not in when we arrived and we did not speak the local language which meant communication was a problem. In our room the welcome leaflet seemed to be all languages but English and we were left feeling unsure of what was appropriate. As it is a very small hotel, we didn't know if we could order room service as when we asked for a beer upon arrival we had a strange response - 'a beer, i think we have some'. In short we felt like we were sneaking around someone's home and it wasn't the welcome or atomosphere we desired for what was supposed to be our romantic once in a lifetime honeymoon. This continued for a few days and when we did see the owner it was still not explained how things worked, we felt compelled to leave after 3 days of feeling totally uncomfortable and it was only then it was explained about evening meals and a boat we could have used. Although they were helpful in recommending another hotel for us to move onto, they made us pay the full amount for the remainder of the holiday and showed no remorse that our honeymoon had been ruined. Not the standards you expect from a place that markets itself as a luxury boutique hotel, it felt more like a B&B!

Totally disappointing.
