I am not a hunter but an avid hiker and wanted a base to operate from while spending some time in the High Country of NZ. I had heard about Hunt/Fish through family and decided to go. I am an expat Kiwi living in Los Angeles...a city boy. Well we have just returned November 16 and report as follows; Very comfortable and cosy accomadation with the hosts Tony and Suzie there to keep you well fed and offer there services for tours or just simple hiking. They have great energy and take a special interest in making you feel welcome and part of there home. Spectacular scenery and and its great to hike in a country where you dont have to watch where you put your feet in case you step on something deadly. NZ is free of all deadly reptiles that exist in most other countries.Tony is born and bred in the region so knows it well. Nina and I hiked the Cameron Valley area. For visitors who prefer a homely atmosphere then you will find a home away from home at Hunt/Fish.

What a cool trek! (And that's saying something as I already own and pack with llamas here in the US!) Joined some old and new friends and all of us whole-heartedly agreed we had a fantastic time. Tony is a true high country Kiwi; his stories and knowledge of the area kept us all in high spirits even if we didn't see an elusive chamois. Well trained llamas handled our supplies without fuss and allowed us to stop and photograph whatever we wanted including close-ups of flowers or lichens on a rock. For even this casual photographer, this was an opportunity to get pictures to rival postcards. We had it all - easy going pace, variety of terrain, beautiful views, crisp clear streams, and did I mention tea and coffee breaks as needed? Would highly recommend Hunt Fish New Zealand's Client Hill's Llama 2 Day Trek!

I went Thar hunting with Troy from Hunt Fish in Canterbury New Zealand we had a 15 min Heli copter ride into the most spectactular high country , the views were absolutly Stunning . . Thar Hunting requires a high level of fitness as there is alot of climbing up and down from aroud the 4000 foot mark to find the Thar . Over the 4 days We saw some magnificient animals. Anyone Interested in Real Fair game hunting [ this is not Game park hunting ] will not go wrong with Hunt \Fishing they Offer the real deal . I had a fantastic time and I will definatly be back to do it again .

We have just returned from our family week away in the South island of New Zealand.
My husband & our youngest Son left 3 days earlier to get a head start on the hunting & fishing adventure holiday to the Marlborough region of the South Island of NZ.
I found the Huntfish website & booked them in for a 2 day hunting adventure.
They were collected bright & early on the Sat moring from their Hotel in Nelson & taken pig hunting, turkey shooting & even a wild goat or 2!
They had a fantastic time eventhough the weather turned a bit windy on them. Thier guide Tony Pearce & his Son Troy, Sister Gail & Brett made the experience complete.
A real Kiwi adventure, my Husband & Son had such a good time when I & our eldest Son joined them in NZ a few days later we decided to conatct Tony for another few days of Fishing & hunting this time we drove our hire 4WD upto their Lodge near Mt. Somers in the Mid Canterbury high country.
On the way up Tony took us for a trout fish in a lovely river. Our Eldest boy caught a good size rainbow trout, which we ejoyed the next day for dinner.
We were welcomed at the homestead by Tony's wife Suzi with a lovely home cooked kiwi feast of venison caserole & delicious home grown veges, finished off with berry crumble for desert.
We slept comfortably each in our own bedroom with a queen size bed. Cosy electric blankets & heaters in each room with plenty of towels too.
The lounge & dining had fires blazing at most times.
Suzi & Tony were great hosts, who made us all feel like one of the family. We fell in love with their little house dogs Monte & frodo.
We awoke to a delicious cooked breakfast & we then set off for an amazing walk in beautful countryside, it was quite cold & windy however the sunshine was lovely. We met up with Troy & Victoria with their 4 young dogs incase we came along any wild pigs during our walk.
Later that day our boys had a ball hare & rabbit shooting in the high country near to the lodge.
We enjoyed a traditional lamb roast for dinner with all the trimmings & yummy local Pinot Noir wines.
Whilst I slept thru the night some of the blokes incl. our sons enjoyed a night hunt, then arising early morning for a deer hunt.
All in all it was a fantastic family adventure made possible by Tony, Suzi Pearce & Family.
We look forward to returning for another NZ HuntFish adventure soon!
