We stayed here in April 2011 and I ahve to say it was truely the least stressful holiday we have had with 3 kids, 7,3 & 18months. As well as me being pregnant. The most relaxing holiday as the resort has the BEST facilities. We stayed in a 2 bedroom garden villa and it was perfect to accomodate our family. We have done a lot of travelling within NZ and overseas with our kids and by far this would be one of the best places we have stayed. Weather was not great when we were there but that did not deter the kids from having oodles of fun on the bounciy pillow and playing on the playground. They even braved a dip in the sea - CRAZY! Hired a bike and biked around grounds for an hour which everyone enjoyed, even in the rain. We found the staff wonderful and this was a truely memorable trip for our family..

Stayed here for three nights November 2011. Second visit, as we enjoyed our first experience in 2009. We chose a beachfront unit (16) and despite a howling gale for day one, enjoyed the comforts of these well laid out, and practically planned units.
The unit was clean, and in excellent condition. Staff were excellent, friendly, and had to cope with a computer "crash" just as we arrived. Created chaos with checking in, and upset the "tag" system for the security traffic barriers. All sorted with most helpful attitude.
Camp is close to very good small suburban shopping for consumables, wine, groceries, and also eating out if needed. Best takeaways from the chinese smorgasbord shop.
One thing that we did notice, was that the Surf club had a function that went on to midnight, and the music (bass) was very noticeable. Friends of ours stayed at unit 6 - close to that venue and did not get to sleep until it ceased.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. This is a very good motor camp that caters for most travellers I feel. You will pay top dollar for what is otherwise a standard unit in any other location, but because of the location, when the sun comes out it is a beautiful scene, and great beach.
We look forward to staying again, and would view it as a special holiday. We would choose a cheaper unit, or even another location if we were only passing thru Tauranga.

A large group of us stayed here for my Dad's 60th. The venue for his party was walking distance so we thought this place would be perfect. The first dilemma was the fact that even though I had 50 + people needing accomation, the 2 night policy remained firm, so all of us had to pay for 2 nights, even though commitments for some meant they could only stay for one. Upon arrival reception did not know we were coming, even though I had all the paperwork confirming dates and payment etc. After 30 minutes in reception we were all allocated to our rooms.
When people and deliveries for the party started arriving, reception told them there was no one under our name staying here so I had to keep running down and meeting/ greeting people. I actually had to scibble down on a piece of paper our name and room number, for reception to stick on their desk! Stressfull and the last thing you feel like doing when you have last minute organising to do. However, the place itself is immaculate, very well kept, and our room was beautiful. Unfortunately due to the highly unorganised reception staff - I just can't give this place a high rating.

For a great family and very very kid friendly place to stay, this is the place.
We had a beach front villa, 17, well laid out and a comfy bed.
The kids just lived on the giant blow up pillows.
