Trevor and Kay gave us a perfect relaxing four night stay which was the culmination of our month's tour in NZ.

Kay and Trevor made us unbelievably welcome from the very first minute and the purpose-built accommodation is really top class, with beautiful views over the gardens to the bay and its wildlife. The food was wonderful, as was the wine. Staying at Matahui is something of a social event, as the neighbours are likely to drop in to share the hospitality and watch the cricket/rugby. It's well worth staying in for dinner, not just for the food and wine but also to be taken through the history of the lodge and its vineyard. We really should have stayed for longer to enjoy the area to the full.

We have just held our wedding at Matahui Lodge and had a wonderful day. Kay and Trevor worked incredibly hard and we felt like nothing was a problem, they are both amazing hosts. We had a lot of fun and our guests all loved the lodge. It was the perfect setting for our day and the most relaxing place we could have wished for to wake up the following morning.

We are a very well travelled couple but of all the wonderful experiences we have had in New Zealand our stay at Matahui Lodge was the most perfect. From the moment you turn into Matahui's drive you are overwhelmed by the beautiful surroundings and drinking on the terrace there each evening added enchantment to our stay. Trevor and Kay are the most wonderful hosts and the breakfasts and dinners they provided for us were absolutely excellent. Our bed was comfy, the pillows were great and we cannot wait to repeat the experience. Strongly recommended!
