Spent Christmas 2011 here, apparently with the same party as another recent contributor. This newish hotel was scupulously clean, the staff uniformly welcoming and helpful. If only it were in the centre of town, this hotel would be excellent. Good buffet style breakfast, water pressure quite low though - run your bath half an hour before you need it!
Sadly, the hotel does not have its own restaurant and relies on the neighbouring and older "De 7 bergsche hoeve" restaurant, which obviously regards itself very highly judging by its prices (particularly for drinks - small measures, too). They don't seem to like British people and didn't consider that at least one of our party might understand Dutch and be able to interpret the catty comments staff (starting with the management, whose attitude was infectious) were making to each other about us. Very sad indeed, and entirely unexpected in the Netherlands, where I have always previously been treated with genuine courtesy. Also, astonishingly slow service and cleaning of tables while you're still eating adds to the impression that we were an embarrassment to their rather pretentious establishment. Our request for bread with the meal was greeted with open ridicule. As our meals had been paid for in advance, we were stuck with them. Have you gathered that I didn't like their attitude? Unfortunately there would seem to be little alternative for eating out as the centre of town is about a mile away - it's not a big place - and we didn't notice any other restaurants.
However, I would certainly recommend the hotel, not the restaurant, very highly if you're passing through. The reception staff in particular were excellent.
