After a 26km slog from Montserrat, and the last 4km through the industrial suburbs of Igualada, I was received pleasantly by the staff at reception-- I spoke to them in Castilian Spanish so I do not know if they speak English. My 59€ was perhaps a bit dear, as the window did not open, but the trendily-decorated room was comfortable after a long hike, the bed excellent, and the shower served its purpose well.
The hotel's restaurant was not busy, but my dinner (41€ ), while a bit pricy, was excellent. The service was pleasant and professional, and the waiter responded to my request for a local wine with my fish. The typical Spanish breakfast (i.e., not much) was available at an early hour, which was very convenient for the pilgrim who needed to start out before it got too warm.
