“Lovely Place”

Really nice small hotel right in the centre of Playa Blanca. As in other reviews it is very quiet here, but if that is what you want then this is a perfect hotel. The bedrooms are samll but very comfortable and the relaxation areas are very attractive. Breakfast varied at bit from day to day, but there is no problem getting anything extra if something has run out and we really enjoyed the fresh orange juice and nespresso coffee.

“No Pool, No Entertainment”

No Pool, No Entertainment, No Air Conditioning - If you want these do not come to Casa del Embajador! If you want Peace, Quiet and Relaxation this is the place!
Sitting on the terrace you could hardly be nearer the sea yet once through the secret door onto the promenade you are less than a stone's throw from the town centre.

“Not sure I want to share this 'find'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

This hotel belies the rumour that every hotel in Lanzarote is for the mass tourism market. We were looking for something quiet but convenient for restaurants and a little light walking. This hotel is on the seafront with private exit on to the walk ways one way and to the town from the other. Rooms (no more than 14) and public areas pleasantly and traditionally furnished. A lovely courtyard for breakfast which is ample and is set out and topped up frequently by attentive but not intrusive staff. Plenty of quiet rocky terrace with loungers to sit out and read. It's location means you are within minutes of a selection of restaurants in the evenings and the 'promenade' means you can walk 5 miles in either direction. Booking a taxi to/from airport (max. 40 minutes) is easy and the hotel is happy to give guidelines on prices to be paid. Playa Blanca itself is a mass tourism resort but this is a little oasis...people were mystified as we disappeared from the prom through the security coded doors in the wall. Great place for R&R

Room Tip: ask for sea facing to get the best of the breezes

just had a wonderful holiday in this hotel. Management and staff were very helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and it was very humid at night otherwise it was excellent and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice relaxing atmosphere.

“Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2007

Four years on, the observations of the last reviewer hold good.
This boutique hotel remains an oasis in the midst of the increasing commercialism of Playa Blanca, being excellently located, just a 2 minute walk from the restaurants and shops.
In total contrast, the palm and geranium filled terrace with sea view and well spaced sun beds is tranquility personified.
Our bedroom was of moderate size, white walled, tiled floor, clean, comfortable and well maintained with lots of hanging and storage space. The bathroom was cramped but well appointed.
The staff were very attentive and flexible - unlike many chains, a 17.30 check out was no problem.
Free fruit baskets are dotted around, there is an honesty bar and the buffet breakfast (the only food available) was good but mostly pre-packaged as almost everything is imported. There was ample free parking.
The only significant drawback was that our ceiling fan was no substitute for the lack of air conditioning. Even in September, with the window wide open, we found it too warm to sleep soundly.
Ideal for couples, a very friendly, pleasant and enjoyable place to stay.

  • Liked — Tranquil terrace
  • Disliked — Lack of air conditiong
