We were originally booked into the hostel torres, which had a pool. However, when we arrived there, they were booked up, so we were moved to the don juan. i was quite cross by this, as i had specifically booked the torres because of the pool.
We were told we could still use the pool facilities, but as we were moved 5 mins away, its hardly the same as having a pool downstairs.
I was not aware that i had booked into the hostel chain, where they can move you to any of there places, when they over book.
However, the staff at the don juan were very helpful and kind. they let us look at three rooms and choose which one we would like. The room we had was very big and clean.
The balcony was a bit unsafe though, dont lean on it. There was air con available, which we couldnt live without. You pay twenty euros deposit and get that back when you hand in the remote and the recipt.
The lift was broken , so we had five flights of stairs to climb, but that couldnt be helped, just unlucky!
The don juan is right above the bars in the west end.The music isnt that bad, and on our last night we slept ok.
Its in a great location but the nearest beach is awful. Its man made, horrible sand with lots of rubbish and cig ends.Apparently a short boat ride away, there is a really nice beach.
Make sure you see the sunset, from the sunset strip, although beer is really expensive, take your own and sit on the rocks!
