The Arcomar apartments are towards the end of San Antonio Bay (5 minutes walk from the Blue Star Hotel – that is also the nearest boat port).

The apartments are comprised of one bedroom apartments which are well worth the money! They are very reasonably priced for what you get as an independent traveller. The apartments have a kitchen, lounge, balcony, bathroom and bedroom – in ours we had twin beds and then a further bed in the lounge. The apartments are spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly, however, they are really tight with toilet roll, so you will need to stock up on that yourself as they aren’t very forthcoming with it. Also, the cleaner can be a bit lazy with the sweeping, but they do change your towels and sheets regularly though.

The hotel is about a 45 minute walk from central san Antonio, which is a nice walk on a not too sunny day, failing that you can pay 2 euros 50 and get on the boat from across the street, which will get you there in 10 minutes. The area surrounding the hotel has loads of little restaurant and bars and they have a lot of food available and family type entertainment. For the younger holidaymakers you will definitely need to head into san Antonio at a night time to enjoy the main stip. Taxi ride is about 8 euros.

Would definitely recommend these apartments for those looking for somewhere to stay that isn’t too expensive, but is clean and has what one needs for a base to enjoy san Antonio.

There is a bbq on the reggae beach at playa pinet every Sunday where you can get some nice Caribbean style rice and chicken! Definitely a visit, the guy down there is called Mitch and he is lovely!

Also the BEST BEST BEST place to eat is a place called Oasis which is next to the Play Bella hotel a few roads down to the left of the hotel, definitely the best place for breakfast, lunch, dinner anything! They are really lovely people and their food really is the best!

We were made to feel welcome from check-in when we were greeted by Susan who like us comes from the North Of England. My wife was then shown to the apartment whilst I parked the car. First impressions very good.

Only criticisms:
No kettle (apparently not unusual)
Insufficient plug sockets in the kitchen.
These apartments are close to some lively places so if you have very young children suggest you request a room at the back.
Pool area at the rear of the apartments kept clean & tidy.
The bar opposite reception is a very friendly place with very good, reasonably priced food, reasonably priced drinks and wi-fi.
Don't know what it's like in high season but our experience of Arcomar in May was; very impressed!

We stayed here for 9 nights at the very beginning of the season. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. A special mention for Susan who went out of her way to assist whenever we needed something. The apartments were exceptionally clean and spacious and had a separate bedroom with plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes. The only niggles I had was that there was no soap, iron or hairdryer which have always been provided in apartments that I have stayed previously. However, I would have no hesitation in staying at these apartments again in the future.

the rooms are basic but clean, no kettle or oven just an old knackered hob
have to get bus to beach or taxi as the beach near here is not a beach but
rocks, ok for snorkelling nothing else though. The staff are a bit arrogant and dont wish to help you much either, would not stay here again.
