“Loved this little break!”

Me & my husband went to this hotel for our 1st holiday without children in august 2010. The rooms were maybe a little small but that would be my only grumble. They were nice & modern, lovely bathrooms with jacuzzi baths. The fridge was stocked daily with cans of soft drink & water. The food was really nice & fresh & we loved the adults only pool which was a lot quieter than the other pools in the hotel. Sadly prices seem to have gone expensive this year but I'd love to go back.

“Brilliant”

My Husband & I went to this hotel for 1 week in September & had a brilliant holiday.Very relaxing.Food excellant and drinks all premium brands. Its true you do have to pay extra for a balcony but apart from not being able to dry my bikini outside I didn't miss not having one.Staff in hotel all very friendly & polite. Bar terrace lovely & quiet to sit out on at night or you can watch some very enthusiastic performers in the Tanit. I put our two towels on the sun beds before going into breakfast each morning & didn't have any problems. We met some really nice people of all nationalities, all you have to do is smile & say hello. We will definitely go back.Jug kettle provided in room but no cups etc.

“Relaxing All Inclusive holiday”

We upgraded from the Fiesta Tanit hotel next door and the upgrade was well worth the extra money. The room was furnished to a high standard with a modern bathroom. The pool and bar area and terrace were lovely and the food was great. As well as the usual buffet, there was a choice of a la carte dishes which were cooked to order. The waitresses served drinks to you at the table which is much nicer than having to jump up and down getting them yourselves as well as carrying plates of food back from the buffet. The wine and other drinks were good quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for a relaxing break. Most of the guests are German.

“Looks good on paper but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Stayed for 9 nights September 2011 in a double room with no balcony. When booking I wasn't made aware that a balcony costs extra. This is fine when on city breaks, but a Spanish beach holiday hotel without a bolcony (unless you pay extra, €19.95 per night) is the first I've ever heard!

The hotel guests were a mixed bunch of Europeans, mostly German, which isn't actually a bad thing. The most embarrassing guests were in fact, British (hangs head in shame).

The bedrooms have a boutique style finish to them which is a refreshing change from the usual 1980's orange/yellow/blue eye assault that most Spanish hotels seem to offer, although it was on the small side.

The beds are awful. If you are over 6ft like me & my wife, then you will not sleep at all well with your feet dangling over the edge! I've stayed in plenty of hotels with 2 beds pushed together to make a 'double', but these beds are genuine single size, the type a child would normally sleep in. Very poor.

The food was of a fairly good standard, so can't really complain there. The a la carte menu is very limited, but there is plenty on offer at the buffet.

Coffee! As mentioned in earlier reviews, the hotel has a really odd coffee policy. At breakfast you can drink as much as you like from the coffee machine (which actually serves proper coffee and tastes great), but this is switched off at lunch & dinner. So if you want a coffee after dinner say, you have to leave(!) the restaurant, walk to the bar (which is next to the restaurant) and order seperately. (No other drink is handled this way, with the waiter service bringing drinks from the bar directly to your table.) How very very odd!

The staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and efficient, so that was a relief. However, the staff in the sister Hotel Tanit were not so friendly, possibly due to the aggravation they receive from their guests (it's a classless hotel with 'entertainment' by the pool - essentially some idiot shouting through a microphone when you're trying to relax). Both hotels are in the same grounds, with all reception services handled by the Tanit, including booking in, so you can't avoid the Tanit which is a BIG shame.

Another issue with the Hotel Cala Gracio - sunbeds!! Hotel Tanit guests can use the small Cala Gracio adults only pool, which would be fine except the Tanit is huge compared to the tiny Cala Gracio, so expect your sunbeds will be taken (towels on sunbeds at dawn? Oh yes!). Every day we had to negotiate a crowded pool area, which is mostly Tanit guests and their rather large frames, flopped over the sun loungers. One couple we met had complained to the management that they struggled to get a sunbed in the hotel they booked and paid more money for. Total joke!

If you must be near Cala Gracio beach and insist on an all inclusive holiday, then I would book and pay less for the Tanit and just go and get your towel on a Cala Gracio sun lounger!! You'll still be able to hear the 'entertainer' and the pumping euro-pop nonsense from the Tanit, so what's the point paying more?!

Will we be going back? What do you think?!

Room Tip: Balconies cost extra. Get your towel on a sunbed at dawn.

“Never go here, we did for our Honeymoon...Big Mistake!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We arrived here for our honeymoon and we understood that the rooms had a balcony...NO it didnt and when we went to reception to ask for one with a balcony as it was our honeymoon, the man asked us to pay more. We had already paid over the odds for this hotel. We also were not happy that the people from the Tanit were able to use our pool. we understood we paid to have the exclusivity of the hotel and not have whoever wanted to use it could. We had a fridge in the room and it wasnt working and we had brough our own bottle of alcohol and found it was being drunk (possibly by the maids), there was ants in the room and it the bathroom was not cleaned properly everyday. The only thing that was pleasant about the hotel was the bar staff and the restaurant staff. That is all this hotel has going for it. We left and went to another hotel we had already booked for a few days of our honeymoon in Ibiza town and thank the lord we did as it was the only thing that was enjoyable about our honeymoon.

Never staying here again!!
