“What else would you need??”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This was my second stay at Casa Maria and yes it's basic but the Staff are friendly especially the two who's names I always forget - cousins one runs the pool bar and the other the downstairs bar (though stay away from his shots!!) and of course John who's well a legend. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough - after all you're in Ibiza do you plan on staying in? I fail to see what's not to like, good food, great staff and feeling that once back at your room you're safe (unlike some reviews for other apartments in San An) I went with one other girl friend. Yes it can be noisey but once again - Hello Ibiza? Party Capital of the world? Bearing in mind that other places in San An in the same price bracket (give or take) have only been missed by the Bull Dozer then I don't see what's not to like. The Pool is small but a sun trap, although once again those looking for a quiet, relaxed and low key Holiday should perhaps look elsewhere - another Island maybe? It is not a family place either mainly due to noise and the pool being on the roof top but I'm sure the resort itself may offer good value family accomodation, perhpas in the Bay.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony or not the 8th Floor (the pool will be directly above).

“The manager/owner is a horrible person! The ruin of a nice hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

Stayed in the Casa Maria for two weeks in august with two friends (all aged 22). The location is great....beside the egg, two minutes walk from the west end, Eden and es paradis. The rooftop pool aka the bath is tiny but good craic. A bit intimidating at first because it was always so full...don't expect to swim without any accidental gropes! The pool was supposed to open at 10 every morning but was often 11. Music was played and the view of the bay is great! Unbelievable sun trap!

The cleaning of the rooms and the staff will be the ruin of this hotel! We stayed for 14 nights and it wasn't till out 12th day that the sheets were changed even when we complained. If there are any marks (make up etc) on the sheets or towels you will be charged and they will refuse to give you any clean towels after. The charge is 10 euro for a big towel and 5 for a small towel. They tried to charge us for like the slightest make up mark on nearly all our towels. We confronted the manager about this and she said it is too difficult to clean. (because no one gets make up on the sheets/ towels at home!) I said if they attempt to wash them and it doesn't come out the I will pay. They didn't wash them rather put them in a bag and threw them in our room putting a note on the door so the cleaner would not come into the room! I deliberately put them in the bath with shower gel to prove how easy it would come out and it did. But the next batch of towels this happened all over again! Complaining to a brick wall would have been more successful!

The noise is to be expected with staying so close to the west end however it was bearable! But do be expected to wake up at 6 in the morning hearing people knocking down their doors to try get a friend to let them in!

The air-conditioning is 8 euro per day! Unless you want a sweat box I would go to a different hotel...it would have been colder if I fanned myself with a piece of paper. A ridiculous waste of money!

This hotel would be amazing if it weren't for the owner/ manageress! On our last day we checked out at 11.30 as required. Our flight wasn't until 8 that evening so we planned on leaving our luggage in the luggage room and spend the day at the pool. When we asked about the luggage room it was a locker room instead costing 10 for a big locker. This apparently was broken so the receptionist said we could pay 5 euro to leave our luggage in the manageress' office...who was about to leave for the day! We paid this but then the manageress out of nowhere decided she wanted 25 euro for this rather than 5. We said this was outrageous because it was there problem that their locker room was broken! We then said we would leave our luggage at the locker room but not in a locker which the receptionist said was fine. The manageress however decided against this because we wouldn't pay her the 25 euro. So as a last resort we woke up friends to tell them we'd leave our luggage in their room for the day, when the manageress flipped and decided she wasn't letting this happen and decided she wasn't letting us use the pool either and that we had to leave the hotel altogether.

We asked for the complaints booked but they didn't give it to us! We walked down the road to a hotel called Florida hotel ( i think) and told them what happened. They stored our luggage for free and said we could use their pool saying they heard this story all the time!

Overall the hotel is great for young people...definitely not couples or families but the manageress will run this place into the ground! She was so rude and offensive! We were told that her husband owns the hotel and she runs it for a hobby however she is trying to prove that it's a gold mine and therefore trying to rip everyone off and charging people for anything possible!

If you want a hassle free holiday do not stay here!

Room Tip: In short do not stay here as you will spend most of your day arguing with the staff...who will not l...

“Not classy, not exactly your ideal holiday for couples”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

Upon arrival to the hotel, our room was not available. Unlike most hotels that hold your luggage without a problem, this hotel wanted no liability for their guests belonging; In fact they asked us if we had a lock for our belongings. With that thought we felt unsafe.

The club music starts in the hotel lobby at 10 am. We were on the first floor and were woken up by the music. The rooms were overpriced for what you get. This hotel is for young partygoers(ages 15-21), so dont expect it to be so clean.

If your looking for good restaurants that are walking distance, this is not the hotel or side of the island for you. Stay in Ibizatown. If your looking for the normal side of the island, IBIZATOWN is where to be! CLASSY! If your a couple, dont stay here unless you want to party till 7 am and sleep all day. This side of the island is very rowdy and not too pretty; it has an shady feeling and makes you want to keep looking behind your back.

Room Tip: Depending on what kind of holiday you are looking for, music is on all day in lobby or roof by the p...

“Rude and agressive personnel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

I had read the reviews about this hotel before I booked it, so I knew what to expect.
Unfortunately, I didn't expect such a bad treatment from the reception person. I know it is not a high class hotel, but still, I am a client and I expect a polite and welcoming behaviour from any hotel. In exchange, the girl at the reception was yelling at me and she didn't care at all about what I have to say.

Breakfast is only after 9.30 AM, so you better eat somewhere else if you want to leave in the morning to the beach. The people in this hotel are mostly young drunk English who are always looking for a fight, so try to avoid them. If you want to get some sleep, definitely this is not the best location, as the noise and the music stop only after 3 AM.

Cleaning the room, bringing new and clean towels is a lottery : you never know when this happens. It is not a daily service for sure. The, the elevator might be broken, so you would need to carry the luggage by yourself. We did this exercise by the 4 th floor. I wonder how it would have been if we had stayed at the 10th? :)

The only good thing about this hotel is the location : 5 minutes walk from the bus station (both disco bus and the others to different locations on the island). 5 minutes walk from the discos in San Antoni and as well from the beach. There are plenty of restaurants all around which close very late, so you have a wide chose if you want to eat there.

All in all, I woulnd't recommend this hotel, unless you have decided for a hostel.
