“Well run Ibizan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

I have visited Ibiza for years now but hadn't stayed here before. It is an excellent place to stay and very well located with easy and quick access to everything! It is very clean and has a good restaurant within. The staff are friendly and efficient and very helpful. It also has a bike/moped hire shop next door which is a great way to see San Antonio and Ibiza. The name hostel belies how good this place is!

Room Tip: Go with a partner as single supplement is a pain!

“Good Ibiza base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

I agree with the majority of reviews. The Florencio is in an excellent location 5-15 mins to The west end, Sunset strip & San Antonio. The staff were friendly and mostly helpful. You can tell it is in a period of transition, with some parts of the place being nicer than others.

Overall the Florencio is clean, rooms cleaned most days. Fresh towels & bedding on request - however no cleaners on a Sunday, which isn't a big deal. Rooms are very basic but functional, we had a balcony, our air-con worked but we were only able to get Spanish & German TV, no English or music channels. We had a double room, which had 2 single beds pushed together which were not secured together, so we had a few occasions of 'falling down the gap'. Very small baths & bathrooms could do with a good scrub, discouloured tiles etc which make it look unclean. Mostly the place was quiet but there was noise now & again.

We went bed & breakfast, the breakfast really isn't worth it, we only went down for it on the first and last day of our 10 day stay. Although the other food & menu's looked nice but we never ate there. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants around, I recommend giving 'Zebra' a try. We really enjoyed our first trip to Ibiza and would return to Ibiza and The Florencio.

Room Tip: Not many of the rooms have balconies. If you have a special request or requirement Email the hotel p...

“standard, but cheap”

budget hotel, private room, stayed 3 nights. Room was quite large, but standardly furnished. More than adequate and clean. Hotel staff were helpful, and nice cafe downstairs with cheap breakfast. Have stayed here twice now and would return again, as value for money, not on a package deal, in this area. Available on hostel bookers. good location close to San An nightlife.

“Would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

We stayed in the Florencio on teh 27th Aug - 30th. We didnt go expecting much as it was a 1 star!
We arrived to a lovely reception area and cafe/restaurant. The staff were helpful.
Our room was one of the older ones i think so it was a bit of a let down but it was clean and that was all we expected. The bathroom was fine too, showere was hot and the pressure good.
We were lucky enough to get a balcony so that was good too, room had aircon. The only downfall to the room was that it was pretty small.
I defo wouldnt say that the hotel/hostel should be a 1 star it it better than that.
The pool area was nice, more umbrellas would be a suggestion to them!
The location was really handy to all of San antonio - we were 2 minutes from the west end strip (which we didnt frequent!) and from Ibiza rocks bar and the nicer coctail bars it was about 5 mins. Also close was the sunset strip (5 mins).
A supermarket directly opposite the entrance.
This place is definately value for money and i would recommend it if you want a cheap hotel to lay your head at night and get ready for going out.

“Will go back”

Got there and room was double as we were two sisters sharing this was not suitable. The room was a corner room at the end of a corridoor small and dark the window was frosted and when opened to let light in opened out straight into someone elses room. Asked to change rooms that evening and this request was granted the next morning. Not a problem as it was dealt with quickly. The lady on reception was very nice. Our new room was nicer and had natural light but window was facing a white brick wall and to either side straight into other peoples rooms. This didnt really bother me but when getting changed you had to be carefull where you stood.

Air conditioning did work and can be controlled using the thermostat and also TV worked and showed english movies. Its very unlikely you'll get a balcony so expect one but your buzzing if you do!

In the first room as we were near the stairs was very noisey!! People all hours never really stops. But second room was better. Apart from the little dweebs next door who insisted on sitting outside our room in the corridoor and playing really loud music (i know im in ibiza but they were playing it at 6am - 8am when we were getting in so there wasnt any let up- this time is for sleeping in preperation for the next night) but the hotel staff did come and remove them without us having to make a complaint.

Rooms were cleaned everyday and smelt of bleach when you came back apart from sunday. One day the light in our bathroom wasnt working there was a handyman at our door within an hour to fix it. Where there are problems they do get fixed as long as you ask.

Having said this ibiza is an amazing holiday so nothing can really get you down. I would stay here again as i liked it and felt safe (there is someone on the front desk at al times) and confortable and liked the street on which it was on. Very handy shop right opposite that stays open later than most. Ate once in the restraunt had a combo - not very good. Wouldnt go half board. Everything was deep fried and nothing left of it.

The pool area is fine dont be put off by the pool being on a different level as we just went for a liitle dip then chilled on the terrace and sunbathed, its not shaded. Says you cant take your own food and drinks but you could get away with it unlike hotel tropical who had door men that checked your bags and confiscated items! We didnt bother!

There are computers in the loby that you can use. I was able to log on to the free wifi everyday using my phone so could make calls using viber, first time ive not come back with a massive phone bill! So that was a bargain! could even get the signal on the terrace while sun bathing.

Hope this review helps it may sound negative in parts but my overall stay was possitive and would stay here again as i know exactly what im getting and there are places far far worse!
