Having stayed here the past 2 summers i can not think of staying anywhere else! The hotel is clean, safe and has great staff! The food is amazing with a great variety each day. The rooms are cleaned everyday, have a free safe and air conditioning. The location is perfect literally 5 mins walk to the sunset strip but its far enough away so that its peaceful both day and night. We'll certainly be back again just hope it keeps offering such fantastic value for money!

Extremely clean hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Lovely pool area. I don't even think the professional pics do it justice. It is prettier in real life! Great hotel if you want to go out at night but relax during the day in relative peace and quiet. Would not recommend staying as part of a hen or stag or large party as it is a quiet enough hotel. Only 2 mins to bar Kanya at the beginning of the Sunset Strip. Some gorgeous bars along here, sun sea bar and further along the path is Cafe Mambo and Cafe Del Mar! Food was good and varied! Def more than a 2 star!

This hotel was recommended to us by friends who had stayed here many times, my wife and i stayed for twelve nights and had a fantastc time, everything was perfect- the staff the food -everything! we have already booked for next year, Mike and Christine

This was our first time at the Gran Sol , we made a last minute booking after finding great reviews for this hotel on the trip advisor, and boy are we pleased we booked it.
Even though this was near to the end of the season I do not think I saw any of the staff without a smile on their face, from the ladies who cleaned our rooms through to the bar staff they where all so friendly to us, and are a credit to Anne and Pepe who run this hotel.
The rooms themselves where spotless, they had a ceiling fan, plus air conditioning, in the bathrooms there is a great hairdryer, towels are changed daily and toiletries provided.
The rooms also have a built in fridge , which is great for keeping cold drinks and snacks in.
The tv have a good selection of English and German channels and also a digital safe is provided free of charge (which in many hotels you have too now pay for).
The breakfast was good with a choice of english and continental food, In the evening there was normally a choice of at least 3 main courses along with pizza or pasta, and the salad selection was wonderful, followed by a choice of desserts , fruit or ice cream.
To San Antonia town would take you about 10 minutes if you take the direct route through the main streets, and about 15 minutes if you took a leisurely stroll along sunset strip, try to do this about sunset as the site is amazing.
In all this hotel was wonderful value for money and I do not know why it is only rated as 2 star it deserves so much better, many of the guest who we spoke to had been to the Gran Sol many times, and on telling them it was our first visit to it, we where told by them all, 'you will be back ' and you know what I think they where right, already of thinking of going again next year :O)
