We have stayed here the last two years in May. The staff are always warm and friendly. Breakfast and dinner are always hot and lots of variety. The Melody bar across the road is excellent for cocktails in the evenings

We stayed in the Arenal Hotel in July. After reading horror stories on here about the hotel I was bracing myself for the worst, but in fact we had a great stay. It's right beside all the big clubs, bars, restaurants and even burger king!

Reception staff were excellent, but our room was late being prepared for our arrival, so we had a quick change, left our bags at reception and went to the beach - right outside the hotel!

The food and staff in the restaurant were not great. Couldn't understand English and the food was really disappointing! We ended up heading to the burger king next door most nights.

Rooms were nice, slightly dated but very clean. Cleaners were extremely friendly and wanted to clean our room every day...

Pool area was also very relaxing but you really need to be up early to get a place. Loved the beach right outside too tho.

The balcony could also do with a light. We couldn't sit outside at night just to relax and play games because it was so dark.

Great location to the beach, right on the doorstep. Went for 2 weeks, had a single room which for very small and had no balcony! Hotel itself was well looked after, bar staff weren't very friendly but the service staff in the food hall were always polite. I stayed half board, the food was very varied and plenty for everyone. Best go around 8 as the sruge of people at half 7 made things a little crowded. Most of the surrounding shops were closed when i arrived and things got quieter and quieter by the day, although i dont think i would of wanted to stay there in the hight of summer, i can imagine it would get rather noisy as it was very close to all the big club. Overal a lovely hotel great location, but only go in october if you want a very quiet holiday. Weather was fantastic and only had two cloudy days!

we have just returned from our 3rd visit to the Arenal, and we were not disappointed, we booked through low cost holidays and they gave a great price, everything was done on line, it was so simple and easy and saved us money. The hotel is in the best location we had a sea view.... wow what a view - the lady on reception called Eva was so helpful and friendly, we felt quite at home there - the food was good and plenty of choice - the room was spacious with plenty of cupboards and drawers etc, t.v a bit limited but hey you dont go on holiday to watch t.v just catch up on the news - it would have been handy if there was a washing line on the balcony as most hotels do have them these days - would we go back again - yes - we hope to go back next year - that says something - we met some good friends there and had a great holiday - even the weather was kind for us.
