“Budget Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

This is a budget hotel offering very little over the basics. The rooms are small but quite clean. The bed linen was old, the air conditioning noisy and there was no fridge or wifi except in the main foyer at 4 Euros/hr. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked well. Our sea view was a view of a car park and an uncompleted hotel. Only rooms on the East side of the hotel really have sea view. The pool is small and the beach minimal and more of a mooring for small boats. A tatty beach towel is available for a Euro a day so buy your own! The room safe is also an extra. Parking is 9 Euros per day. The cooked food is extremely poor - even the paella was too salty to eat and the quality was never up to a Little Chef for English fare. Breakfast was worth having when you have worked out what was ok. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. I can't believe any of the gushing reviews were written by normal people. It is OK at best but there must be better, especially considering its position is not great unless you are prepared to use transport. Also if clubbing and/or sleeping in late is your thing then you will miss breakfast which ends at 10am!!! I wanted to like this place more but its availability when most other places were fully booked should have been a clue.

Room Tip: Sea view is East side only

“great hotel and great location”

great hotel located in a relax and quiet area. Great to have a relaxing day at the beach, not many hotels in ibiza have a beach so close. beds are a little hard, and the hotel doesnt have an ice machine. I had to buy from the market across the street. Also you have to pay to use the internet and if you want a towel to use in the pool the hotel charge you 1 euro daily plus 10 deposit. I am used to get free towels at any hotel i go so I found this ridiculous, anyway I brought a towel for souvenirs. The breakfast is awesome, lots of choice for any taste. Also the bar at the pool is excellent. Check the restaurant bar across the street next to the rental, its good. Overall I like this hotel and will stay here again. A little things I didnt like but things in ibiza are different than in USA,

Room Tip: the higher the better, they charge for ocean view rooms

“Maintaining High Standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This was my 2nd stay here within the last 15 months, and pleased to say that report from previous visit would be repeated. Later period in season visit, therefore hotel busier, but similar crowd as last year. Again, none of the 'madness' you will experience around the bay.
Evening buffet appeared to have improved, with additional choices on offer, plus a couple of 'special' nights on offer, ie Italian and Mexican.
This is far superior than other 3 star ratings I have given to other locations, quirk of Tripadvisor markings. (It's better than average, but not 'very good' as in some of the bigger hotels I've stayed in)
Only negatives I would mention are: size of lifts, pool aea being used by 'visitors' from the beach area, and sun loungers have towels on them all day without being used.
Would stay here again, and have no hesitation recommending to others.

Room Tip: Sea view room for afternoon sunshine and superb views.

“We enjoyed it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

For the start of our summerbreak we decided to go to Ibiza as a few months before we were in Mallorca and fell in love with it.
Hotel accomodation is always a tough job when it comes to value, service and quality. But in general we were not dissapointed with Sol Pinet Playa.

Room:
Our request for a highfloor room was granted and found the size of the room fine (big enough) for the two of us. Looking at the pictures of other travelers. I can understand why some were not happy if they cramp another single bed for the 3rd person.
Room was always cleaned upon our return!
The interiour is a bit dated, but we went to Ibiza to explore the island not the hotel.
Fairly large balcony wich provided a nice view!
Aircon worked perfect and everything checks out fine with the bathroom (clean, spacious, good waterpressure etc)
The only thing we missed was a mini-fridge or an ice-machine at each floor or in the hotel. (but maybe that is more an American-hotel as I'm yet to find a hotel in Europe that provides Ice-machine for their guests)

Food:
We went halfbroad which means we had to pay for our drinks during dinnertime. The drinkprices were good. Food quality and quantity was great. We always had plenty of options to choose from. In my case I do not eat seafood, which were plenty of. But there were also meat dishes. Great selections for salad and found the food to taste wonderful & fresh. Some nights almost everything was outstandig and others I only liked a few options. But hey I always went back for more. Especially on themenights such as BBQ and Mexican. Breakfast was also great with almost everyday the usual options (pastries, fruits, eggs, salad, beans, bacon, fried mushrooms & tomatoes etc and with one speciality each day (pancakes)
The only thing we were dissapointed in was the coffee and juice. You would except freshly brewed and squeezed, but alas it's from a machine and was drinkable but not enjoyable. My compliments for the chefs and diningroomstaff as they worked hard to clear tables and made sure everything was freshly restocked.

Location:
We heard crazy stories about San Antonio, but honestly it's not bad. Sol Pinet is located in a quiet area, where not much drunking tourist hangs around nor any drugdealing. Having experiencing San Antonio at night, we were GLAD that it is a good 15 to 25 min walk to the center of San Antonio, but nice since you can walk along the water. We didn't want to be stuck in the centre as it is a very busy place day and night.
We had a carrental and a finding a place to park for free was very easy. We usually parked at the parellel street across Pinet or behind the Snackbar located on beach.
For those not having a car you can easily reach Sol Pinet by bus from and to the airport with line9. When coming from the airport you'lll need to walk a bit as the stop is located a block away because of the oneway direction. However catching a bus from Pinet is 2 min walk from the hotel as the busstop is in front of the door. Including the bus that will take you back to the airport.

Can't really comment the pool because there are amazing anf beautiful beaches to swim in. And even if you do not have a rental some of the beaches are accesible by bus or watertaxi. However did find the poolsize small for the size of the hotel. The beach located in front of the hotel was always busy bit crowded and was ok. Once more I advice you to make the effort and do not stay your entire time at one place, explore the island and you'll find your own hidden gem of Ibiza!

Always found the hotel-staff to be friendly(maybe my fluency in spanish helped a bit)
I do not mind staying at Sol Pinet again, however for our coming trip in Ibiza to close the summerbreak we are going to stay in another area in order to experience the other side of Ibiza.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor room!

“Nice hotel near the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Nice hotel located on a quiet area (it seems that was busy some years ago but not anymore) and near almost everything, in fact San Antonio is just 25 minutes walking from here and 5 minutes by bus. Near the hotel you have bus stop and also plenty of rent a car.
Did not like the room space, too small for a couple with a 4 year child.
Breakfast and diner are nice but they could do better at diner.
