“Relaxing, well-located and clean!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Sunset point is a very comfortable place to stay for your vacation. The apartments are clean, spacious and well equipped. The hotel is located in a very calm area, on a walking distance from shops and bars, and a 5-minute ride in the ferry from the center of San Antonio. We stayed there for a week, during which our towels were changed once but the apartment wasn't cleaned. Having breakfast by the pool was definitley a great way to start our day. They had a charming flamenco night with people of all ages, the atmosphere was very joyous and pleasant.
The owners, Maru and Alan, are great folks, they were very friendly and helpful. We would definitley go back there! We highly recommend it for those looking for a relaxing place to chill out :)

“Cool enough, great owners”

I am quite confused about writing a review for the Sunset Point, so I guess I'll just say it like it is. I was in Ibiza for 4 nights during the month of September 2011. First of all, I think it's really important to say that the owners are lovely people who will strive to make your stay relaxed, enjoyable, and worry free if they are around. If they aren't around then the laid back attitude of the staff will leave you wondering! It is HIGHLY ADVISABLE to rent a car during your stay on Ibiza, no matter what side of the island you are staying on. For this location I'd definitely insist you have one, as it's not that far off the beaten path, but not that close either! You won't want to be attempting to walk everywhere, as this quiet location in Cala Bou is just atop a hill overlooking San Antonio Bay. There is free parking so that's not an issue. You'll waste a lot of time waiting in taxi lineups from any location on the island if that is your only plan for transportation (the bus system is slow, infrequent). For the most part it was just a very relaxed, hippy kindof place, clean, groovy music playing not too loudly, and I appreciate the atmosphere the owners are creating there. When I arrived my room wasn't ready and I waited over an hour - I was super tired and hungry and the lone staff member (who moved between sunning herself at the pool and making drinks for the few, happy people who she seemed to know personally) kept on telling me "5 more minutes". I was very unimpressed when I first got there, so much so that I considered seriously cancelling my reservations and finding another hotel. I couldn't sit around and wait any longer, nor did I want to, so I took off for a ride in my rental car and cooled down a bit, explored the vicinity. I came back two hours later and my room was ready for me. When I did finally manage to haul my suitcases up the stairs (there is no elevator), I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and spaciousness of the apartment itself. Full bathrooms and kitchens, with balconies opening to a sea view, pool just below. Air con and water pressure worked perfectly. It was nice, simple. Honestly I'd have to say this place was about a 3.5 out of 5, only because they made me wait so long to get into my room, and also because the walls are paper thin! I would recommend this place in the side seasons or off seasons for that reason alone, but not high season. If your neighbours are partying or arguing (as was the case when I was there - I could hear every word!) you'll feel like you're in the same apartment as them. For the most part though it was quiet, pleasant, and the owners were friendly people who I enjoyed meeting. If you're looking for a swanky hotel that you can luxuriously laze about at all day long, this probably isn't the place (although maybe you would if there was nothing better to do or see on the island!). But if you are looking for apartments for a lower cost and in a fairly central location, this place is really not too bad.

Room Tip: Only ten apartment so any will be good. make sure you rent a car though!

“Brilliant stay at Sunset Point!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We stayed at Sunset Point in September. Located in a quiet part of San Antonio Bay, Excellent apartments and the place has a very chilled out feel which was great. Only 10 apartments in the block, so nice to not have people rushing around. Apartment was very spacious with 2 balconies. Aircon worked perfectly. Very clean, with a lovely view of the bay and sunset. We were contacted before we stayed to ask if we'd like a kingsize bed, which was a very nice gesture and of course we said yes! There is regular entertainment down at the bar. Owners were very nice and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms Re pool facing with a view, therefore all good!

“Lovely chill out place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

Sunset point is a strange place but we enjoyed it!
Its small and it feels more like a villa than apartments. Most of the time we were the only ones around the pool.
The service is very haphazard but that's part of the charm. The drinks and food do take a while to turn up but that's because the owners are the ones cooking the food whilst doing everything else.
Our apartment was in the more private building which mainly accommodates long term residents. It was old fashioned but clean and spacious.
Its location is slightly off the beaten track and you have to walk up an unlit road at night but its only a five-ten minute walk to the nearest bars and restaurants.
Would recommend the nearby Bucanero bar for a good atmosphere and friendly staff.
It took us about 30 minutes to walk to San Antonio town.
One negative would be a distinct lack of taxis! The staff said they were unable to get one for us due to how busy the taxi companies were and it was near on impossible to flag one down so be prepared for a walk.
I would recommend this accommodation if you're looking for somewhere to chill out and relax away from the madness of San Antonio.
