I am quite confused about writing a review for the Sunset Point, so I guess I'll just say it like it is. I was in Ibiza for 4 nights during the month of September 2011. First of all, I think it's really important to say that the owners are lovely people who will strive to make your stay relaxed, enjoyable, and worry free if they are around. If they aren't around then the laid back attitude of the staff will leave you wondering! It is HIGHLY ADVISABLE to rent a car during your stay on Ibiza, no matter what side of the island you are staying on. For this location I'd definitely insist you have one, as it's not that far off the beaten path, but not that close either! You won't want to be attempting to walk everywhere, as this quiet location in Cala Bou is just atop a hill overlooking San Antonio Bay. There is free parking so that's not an issue. You'll waste a lot of time waiting in taxi lineups from any location on the island if that is your only plan for transportation (the bus system is slow, infrequent). For the most part it was just a very relaxed, hippy kindof place, clean, groovy music playing not too loudly, and I appreciate the atmosphere the owners are creating there. When I arrived my room wasn't ready and I waited over an hour - I was super tired and hungry and the lone staff member (who moved between sunning herself at the pool and making drinks for the few, happy people who she seemed to know personally) kept on telling me "5 more minutes". I was very unimpressed when I first got there, so much so that I considered seriously cancelling my reservations and finding another hotel. I couldn't sit around and wait any longer, nor did I want to, so I took off for a ride in my rental car and cooled down a bit, explored the vicinity. I came back two hours later and my room was ready for me. When I did finally manage to haul my suitcases up the stairs (there is no elevator), I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and spaciousness of the apartment itself. Full bathrooms and kitchens, with balconies opening to a sea view, pool just below. Air con and water pressure worked perfectly. It was nice, simple. Honestly I'd have to say this place was about a 3.5 out of 5, only because they made me wait so long to get into my room, and also because the walls are paper thin! I would recommend this place in the side seasons or off seasons for that reason alone, but not high season. If your neighbours are partying or arguing (as was the case when I was there - I could hear every word!) you'll feel like you're in the same apartment as them. For the most part though it was quiet, pleasant, and the owners were friendly people who I enjoyed meeting. If you're looking for a swanky hotel that you can luxuriously laze about at all day long, this probably isn't the place (although maybe you would if there was nothing better to do or see on the island!). But if you are looking for apartments for a lower cost and in a fairly central location, this place is really not too bad.
Room Tip: Only ten apartment so any will be good. make sure you rent a car though!
