Our room was very comfortable and a mix of traditional Spanish furniture and a very modern bathroom. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Manuel was full of information on the local area. Restaurant was great and we noted that although we were a long way from another restaurant meals were reasonable priced and there was a very interesting choice.

Fantastic hotel. I only have compliments to make. Let's say that this place is really gorgeous, charming, quiet. The staff is perfect, sympathic. Rooms are large and we had a balcony with a view on the olive trees. The food is good also and this is very important considering that the hotel is far from everything. The swimming pool is beautiful surrounded by nice trees and flowers. Don't go there is you looking for animation. It is the countryside. Even in august we were not so hot. We stayed 5 days there and liked it so much. It really deserves the trip advisor rate and price. Very good value for money. There is no gsm connection which is very good thing is you want to put your blackberry on the side for a few days! Perfect!!!

We had the Penthouse booked in El Cortijo for a 3 night stay before moving on to Cordoba. It was so relaxing we changed our itinerary to stay another night as we could not bear to leave. The hotel was difficult to find, along the country lanes and was remote but so worth it once we arrived. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here, which was good value. Loved this hotel. What a Gem

We booked this hotel after much searching for the perfect place to relax on our honeymoon, without taking our children, and we couldnt have picked better!
Everything from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left was, in our eyes, perfect!
We arrived mid afternoon and after checking in we were shown by Manuel to our room. Room 7 was splendid!
The whole experience was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. The rooms were spotless and very spacious, cleaned daily. The breakfast was continental but lovely. We ate every evening in the hotel, and the meals were very well presented. Tables had candles and roses on, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere. The sangria was lovely too!
The hotel wasnt fully booked when we were there, so I guess we were fortunate in that we did tend to have the pool to ourselves for a few hours a day, although we did meet some lovely people whilst we were staying there.
The surrounding area is extremely picturesque, and it is impossible not to relax here. As the saying goes, silence is golden!
The swimming pool is a great size, and extremely clean. All the sunbeds had covers on them, which again were clean and tidy.
Manuel was extremely helpful, giving us a map of the area and pointing out the places to go, for which a hire car is definitely essential. Nothing was too much trouble. Edgar was also extremely helpful and friendly, again, pointing out places to visit, as were the other members of the small team.
People need to remember that this hotel is a rural hotel, in the middle of nowhere, with only 12 rooms, so it isnt like staying in a 5* town centre multi room hotel. In our opinion, the personal touch is much nicer. We can not fault this hotel at all, and think that it definately deserves the awards that it has received. If you want a holiday away from all the hustle and bustle then this is definitely THE place to be. We will certainly return here at any opportunity that we get in the near future.
