This sea front hotel is in one of the best spots in the coast of Lisbon area. The view from the rooms are impressive, even when there is a rough sea. Te small spa in the hotel gives an extra confort for a relaxing week end. The food is regular, but when you are a twon known for its almost hundred of excelent fish restaurnants, relax at the hotel and then just come outside and choose while you walk.

If you're looking for somewhere to chill out and enjoy being near the sea, this would take some beating. The location of this hotel is stunning. Because it stands on a jutting out piece of land, you are looking across the bay and have a really good view of the waves rolling in.

The promenade outside provides lots of places to sit and watch the sunset and the pools looked tempting although it was the end of October! I'd recommend a balcony room and have no complaints. Was pleased to have a number of English channels on the TV. Parking wasn't a problem although we were out of season.

The village did have a feel of being away from the main tourist traps yet still had plenty to entertain us.

The food buffet for breakfast was plentiful.

We spent a really enjoyable 2 weeks in the Vila Gale recently.The staff were wonderful and were exceptionally helpful and friendly.The room was fine,very clean and a reasonable size.The bathroom while clean could do with updating esp. tiling around bath.We had a sea view room on 4th.floor but if you want a balcony you have to go lower.The food was good; breakfast a bit boring,always the same but lunch and dinner were better with an excellent and varied buffet each evening and a reasonable a la carte if preferred.We loved the pool area, spectacular views over beautiful surfing beach,excellently maintained pools with attentive staff on hand and a huge array of loungers and umbrellas.
Ericeira is a jewel of a place with a real feel of the genuine Portugal about it.There are lots of wonderful walks and fabulous beaches.The town has a wonderful selection of fish resturants,not cheap but fresh fish straight from boat.The town while relatively small has a wonderful atmosphere.It was a joy to mingle among the locals and watch them go about their daily lives almost oblivious to the presence of us tourists.The coffee shops and bakeries/patisseries were wonderful and superb value.I must mention the wonderful staff in the tourist office who were always keen to ensure we saw all that the area has to offer.
It was a privilege to spend some time in a place not spoiled by rampant tourism,we'll be back!

It's been close to 20 years since we stayed at this property which at the time was under a different ownership. Vila Galé have done a fantastic job renovating the place, albeit, some 8-9 years ago but you would never have guessed. Bathrooms were well finished (no rust stains noticeable). Rooms were clean. You have 3 choices - no sea view, window sea view and balcony with sea view. Breakfast was typical self service a la Portugal and well prepared. Did not taste lunch or dinner. Pools were well kept and clean. Staff were excellent, spoke English and helpful. Fabio and Sergio were unbelievable. If you want the best hotel in Ericeira - this is your one.
