We made our reservation 3-months in advance and received an excellent rate on Expedia. When we arrived that busy holiday long weekend, the proprietor came out and tried hard to get rid of us explaining that she did not have room for us at her hotel due to a wedding party that we suspect had paid a much higher room rate than what we had booked.
She convinced us that another hotel nearby would work just as well, but failed to mention that the alternative was not even in the same town as we were vacationing in and ranked 2-stars less than what we expected. If it were not for a kind desk clerk at another hotel, my family (including my infant son) would have been without a room for the night.
I had booked the Best Western Soleil Et Jardin thinking I would be guaranteed a room because it was part of a strong franchise and the hotel would stand behind the franchise name. Unfortunately, it was not the case with this unscrupulous property.
