we had a three bedroom apartment. we didn't pay for view but had a bit of a view anyway. the apartments with views are nearest the road. we were at the back of the property. reception staff helpful, although wifi not reliable. not a great experience in the restuarant - everything was undercooked! but the apartment is spacious and fully equiped.

places we stayed at on our South Island tour. The staff at check in were brilliant and so helpful. We were upgraded to a lake view room and it was stunning. Well appointed and comfortable. Peppers Resort is a short stroll into town and the restaurant recommendations were spot on! We only wished we had more than the one night here. Didn't get to use the facilities in the resort so can't comment and our only suggestions for improvement would be help to the room with bags as we were up three flights of stairs and perhaps a bit of discipline over allocated parking as a large party had lots of mini vans and we couldn't park after our evening out! Tekapo is beautiful, the lake is stunning and worth the effort to get out and about.

This was our first stop in New Zealand on our honeymoon and I must say the location is breathtaking. Lake Tekapo is a heavenly lake situated between the glaciers with a luminiscent blue colour that comes from the minerals in the lake. The drive from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo is beautiful and refreshing. We stayed at Peppers Bluewater resort which is service apartments on the lakefront and it was the most relaxing part of our honeymoon. We sat by the lake, watched movies, went to the heated pools (nearby 5 minute drive away). The town centre had many tiny restaurants and we tried a different one for every meal: Thai, Chinese, Italian, Grilled. It was a small, quaint town and made for a peaceful vacation. There are various activities to do. Lake Tekapo has the clearest sky in the Southern Hemisphere and there are astromony tours that happen post 11pm to go star gazing. Be warned that the temperature on these tours can be freezing though! We also took a chartered flight to see the glaciers of Mt Cook and the lake and this was an INCREDIBLE experience. It was like stepping inside a Nat Geo documentary. Simply stunning views of the southern Alps. Definitely captures the beauty of New Zealand. Highly recommend it!

Stayed at this hotel recently, there was a big tour group as well. What a noisy complex this is, right till the early hours of the morning, no consideration at all for the other guests. The complex is not very soundproof, it is preferable to have an upstairs bedroom. My suggestion is that tour groups should have designated hotel rooms, away from other tourists.These tour groups do not have to drive the distances we as normal travellers do when hiring a car. The breakfast in the resort was good and adequate. Shower, bathroom area is really big, very nice indeed.
