“A very relaxing stay in a beautiful location!”

My husband stayed at Advocado Sunset in Nov 2011 and it was a most enjoyable stay.

The Guesthouse itself is beautiful and the view over the mountain side & woodland is spectacular. The sunset was increadible, very peaceful. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. We spent one night in the Daintree Room. The surrounding area of Tamborine Mountain is beautiful..we also recomend Clancy's the Irish Pub for Lunch!!

The hosts, Cheryl and Richard were very welcoming and informative of the area.. we would definately be back if we were passing through the area again and would stay for longer!!

Room Tip: Try the Daintree Room!!

“Such a special treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We have visited twice now with 2 x sets of family, and both times have been amazing. Our family agreed that this is a super special place to stay. We had the Safari and Daintree rooms both times, which both have stunning views, and are extremely roomy and comfortable. Cheryl and Richard are fantastic hosts, and made us feel so welcome and comfortable in their home. I would endeavour to take any future visitors for a night of two, and hope to do a winter visit soon so the open fires are lit !

Room Tip: The Daintree room is my favourite, lovely spa bath with moutain views - perfect to have a glass of s...

“The most stunning "B&B" on the planet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Without question, the only thing that surpassed the ample and luxorious facilities, was the freindliness of the retreats owners.

They were such an accomading couple.

Note the views from this place, were amazing - terraces all round the property over looked acre of land on top of mount tambourine.

I have to say that this is not a "B&B", this is a luxury retreat.

We stayed in the safari room which hosted immaculate bathroom spa and shower facilities.

This should be marketed as a retreat as it is, by far and away, in the higher enchelons of luxury holiday accomodation.

Room Tip: Safari and Oriental room are the best, but all have unique selling points. Ritchie Fisher

“Simply Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and all I can say is that It is the most wonderful place on Mt. Tamborine! Richard and Cheryl and the most wonderful hosts and serve up a fantastic breakfast - they made us feel at home as soon as we walked in the door. We stayed in the Safari Room and it was just perfect! I cannot rave about Avocado Sunset enough...I will definately be staying again when I return to Australia!

“Clean, great views & lovely rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Stayed in the Oriental suite & was a very good clean large room. Nice colours, decor & little touches...not to forget 2 plasma tvs. Checked out the Safari & Daintree rooms when we left & they had a bigger spa bath & wonderful views. The hosts were very accomodating & friendly & seemed genuinely interested in you. They took pride in the place & could cook a mean breakfast. You sit on a long table for breakfast which was a little strange as you share the table with the other guests which is a little different & takes away from the privacy you might like but didn't particularly phase me, only at the outset.
The common lounge is big & you can use the connecting balcony to sit & view the long sweeping plains & magnificent sunset. Music is chimed in to add to the ambience. Dvds can be taken into the room from the wide selection.

All in all a perfect relaxing setting with only 4 rooms & all very comfortable & relaxing. The B&B does have the feeling of staying in someones house rather than a private hotel room but that's what you sign up for. Highly recommended.

Thanks for a great, and also informative review. I think you have described our B&B so well and your comments really describe our place to a tee.
Cheryl and I have deliberated often about the breakfast setup and whether guests would be happier sitting on separate tables but our dinning table is such a magnificent piece of furniture which goes so well with the style of our place that it would be criminal to change it.
It is rewarding to see a group of strangers sit together, initially very reserved and watch when so often everyone starts to talk to each other and stay chatting long after the breakfast has finished.
To us this is exactly what a real B&B is about and it makes us feel we are doing a good job!
