STAFF-friendly warm hospitality, always helpful
THE POOL- The pool was small, i wasnt sure how safe the fencing was surrounding the pool, there wasnt a childrens section of the pool, which was a shame, the pool was too cold for my children. I still enjoyed it though!
THE FOOD- good amount of fruit, selection included pastries toast cereal tea coffee, juice, good selection at dinner time.
THE ROOM-clean tidy, tv, happy with the room, some space to hang clothes to dry which was nice, the balcony was on a slight slope which made me fel a bit on edge sitting there! But i was happy with the room overall. Goodview, not noisy, didnt hear neighbours through the walls etc.
LOCATION OF DROP OFF POINT- be aware that you get dropped off about an 8min walk from the hotel due to lack of space for coaches in the front of the hotel, we were dropped of 1am and told "go that way"(down the hill turn right then left then right again), we had an 18month old with us asleep in my arms, a sleepy 3yrs old, two suitcases and no real directions. It was quite scary and confusing.
LOCATION OF HOTEL AND AREA-we found our way around easily, we used the train to go the barcelona which was very cheap, the beach was a short walk and there were childrens parks everywhere, the locals all loved children and there were lots of places to buy ice cream/souvenirs etc. Touristy, but you wouldnt have to stay in the tourist area as there were car hir companies.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT-i think thre was some kind of bingo going on but i didnt go, i also didnt go to clubs etc so can't comment on that side of things.

Overall i liked the hotel, its certainly not th worst ive stayed in (but definately not the best either) its a mid range hotel on budget in a good locationd for a quiet holiday with good places for eating out and relaxing.

I stayed at Mont Palau with my friend and our girlfriends for a week in July 2008. Upon arriving it transpired that there was an issue with our booking - the hotel did not have the details. Though we were given rooms anyway, the staff were distinctly unfriendly and this continued throughout the week. The rooms themselves were clean and more than adequate. The food on offer was poor, there was little variety and what was offered was of low quality. The location of the hotel on the other hand was relatively good, Pineda de Mar is beautiful and Barcelona is just a short train ride away, as is a truly excellent water park. Finally, the hotel does have a pool, but it is very small and not much use for families with children.

The rooms were very basic but really clean. The food was OK but not much choice and virtually canteen style - even expected to clear your own plates etc away. No entertainment at all in the hotel and pool very small on 4th floor.
Ideal for just short break in an excellent resort which has easy access vis coastal train to Barcelonia, Lloret de Mar etc. My husband and I were there for 6 nights which was long enough in this hotel.

this hotel is terrible,,,the rooms are dirty and scruffy,,had 2 rooms while there and both toilets didnt flush properly, had to use buckets of water to flush.
the food is discusting and lack of choices.no entertainment at all,,and a pool, well you cant call it a pool it is so small and dirty,,no bar at the poo lso had to go down in lift 4 floors through recetion into the cafe for drinks.
DEFINATLY NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH WALKING PROBLEMS.
got dropped of more than 500 metes from hotel and asked to walk there,,,cost 8.50 euros to go back to collection point to get the bus.
the staff were excellent,,,pity about the hotel.

for the last 25 years we have travelled extensivley to many countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels,,but this got to be the worst to date.
