The hotel is strategically located in the centre, it's close to the beach.
Althouh it is not a big hotel but the personnnel is friendly. the room is clean and the food is good.
It's really good value for money.

The beach is about ten minutes walking from the Hotel and Barcelona is just a short train ride away. The staff is very friendly, rooms are modest but very clean, and breakfast has a good variety of fruit. The pool is small. It’s a good option for the budget traveler.

A good choice for the budget traveller- The hotel sits beside a pleasant tree lined square and overlooks a small childrens play area. The hotel is at the very top of the main street 10 mins walk to the beach and train station) and has cafes,bars and restaurants, small boutiques and a few souvenir shops and small supermarkets.
The rooms at the hotel are basic but clean(flat screen tv but no kettle). All rooms have a balcony(some overlook the square, others the shops on a side street). The food is simple, buffet style, usually a meat dish, a fish dish, pasta, potatoes etc. A bottle of wine costs from 3.50 Euros. Its probably not great for vegetarians but there are always salads and a selection of fruit. You are not obliged to clear your own plates but most people do...its really not a big deal to clear your plates and cutlery to a trolley!. Because the Retaurant is 'self service' there is not a lot of interaction with the staff although they are always present and are pleasant and helpful when appraoched.
There is a cafe bar and a small roof top pool, a cafe bar in the foyer and a small snooker/pool room. I paid approx 14 pounds pppn (full board) then you have the option to eat at the hotel or there are lots of restaurants around.
Pineda itself is a very pleasant town. I have been there for Sant jordi's day (April 23rd) and for Catalans National Independence day(11th Sep). The locals celebrate at the community centre on the nearby square, there is a bar and gallery there and an open air stage which holds events (dancing, folk music etc).
There is always a great community feeling and I would suggest that its a great, safe place to take children.The town and beach are clean and well maintained
Overall I really like this town and hotel...It's a great place to enjoy a 'beach holiday' but can also be a great base as its well connected for sightseeing to Barcelona,Gerona and other interesting coastal towns.

STAFF-friendly warm hospitality, always helpful
THE POOL- The pool was small, i wasnt sure how safe the fencing was surrounding the pool, there wasnt a childrens section of the pool, which was a shame, the pool was too cold for my children. I still enjoyed it though!
THE FOOD- good amount of fruit, selection included pastries toast cereal tea coffee, juice, good selection at dinner time.
THE ROOM-clean tidy, tv, happy with the room, some space to hang clothes to dry which was nice, the balcony was on a slight slope which made me fel a bit on edge sitting there! But i was happy with the room overall. Goodview, not noisy, didnt hear neighbours through the walls etc.
LOCATION OF DROP OFF POINT- be aware that you get dropped off about an 8min walk from the hotel due to lack of space for coaches in the front of the hotel, we were dropped of 1am and told "go that way"(down the hill turn right then left then right again), we had an 18month old with us asleep in my arms, a sleepy 3yrs old, two suitcases and no real directions. It was quite scary and confusing.
LOCATION OF HOTEL AND AREA-we found our way around easily, we used the train to go the barcelona which was very cheap, the beach was a short walk and there were childrens parks everywhere, the locals all loved children and there were lots of places to buy ice cream/souvenirs etc. Touristy, but you wouldnt have to stay in the tourist area as there were car hir companies.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT-i think thre was some kind of bingo going on but i didnt go, i also didnt go to clubs etc so can't comment on that side of things.

Overall i liked the hotel, its certainly not th worst ive stayed in (but definately not the best either) its a mid range hotel on budget in a good locationd for a quiet holiday with good places for eating out and relaxing.
