The hotel was lovely & clean. Food was OK but the fruit was awful. The disappointing thing is that the spa costs 10 euro per day so it is not what it seems, when you read the hotel description there is no mention of an extra charge for spa & gym. (don't know how dear the gym is but there is a charge). Hotel is quiet, but rooms are very small.

We stayed here in July 2007. The Hotel is very nice from the outside and was relatively clean and well looked after. The pool was a bit smaller than we had hoped, but was very quiet until about 10am, so we used to go for a quick dip before having a later breakfast.

The staff were quite friendly, if a little slow to serve at the bar. The food was quite good - they did some show cooking including omelettes for breakfast, and my partner who is vegetarian said the selection of salads, etc was good in the evening.


The Hotel had good facilities with the spar - as a bit of a health fanatic, I loved this aspect of the hotel. There was also a rabbit / chicken enclosure about 100m from the hotel, and they were very entertaining to watch.

Pineda itself was too quiet for our liking, there was no nightlife whatsoever, apart from a few smokey cafe's. On a couple of occasions we caught the train to Malgrat and went out there, as it was much livelier.

The train route is excellent - a fast, efficient service to other destinations on the costa brava.

All in all a good hotel, well looked after with good food and facilities. Ideal if you want a taste of a real Spanish seaside resort without too many noisey tourists.

I have to say I agree with some of the things mentioned earlier. The room was small, the pool was too and the food was repetitive. The food itself is not bad and there is enough to choose from. Unfortunately, everything tastes the same somehow.

What is probably most disturbing is the fact that the walls are thin as paper. You can hear your neighbor snoring or making his duty at the toilette(when you're at the toilette at the same time)

On the other hand, I have to say our room was cleaned daily. The staff is friendly. There is a different "party" happening each evening. (for instance Catalonia night is on Monday and Spanish night on Friday) It's basically meant for children so don't expect any wild parties for young people.

Pineda is a very quiet resort. Not really typical for Spain. If you're looking for nightlife, you have to go somewhere else or commute by train each night. The beach is beautiful and it's not crowded.

Overall, I have to say I was satisfied with the hotel. We got a decent deal. I would be upset if I paid the standard price.

The stella hotel was very clean was worried when we read reveiws but shouldnt have. staff were very helpful especially mercedes behind reception desk pool was lovely rooms clean food very good plenty of choice and something cooked in front of you every night few dutch children that were a problem but maybe we were unlucky! pineda itself is very small not a lot to do and hardly any nightlife but the train takes you to callela in one direction for 1euro 30 and in the other direction to santa sussana and malgrat much more to do. W\ent to wonderful fireworks display at blanes but waited 3 hours for taxi home be warned!!!
