We have young children and what we look for in a holiday is pretty specific and therefore hard to find, but this Aparthotel really did have it all. In particular, we prefer to have an apartment, so that we don't have to go to bed when our small children do, yet at the same time nor do we want to cook on holiday and it's pretty unusual in my experience to find an aparthotel with restaurant buffet facilities. However, the apartments here are 2-bedroom, with a small living room and basic kitchen facilities, and yet the hotel also has fantastic buffet food for those on a half-board basis - really fresh quality and well-cooked. You can eat at the pool bar for lunch or buy baguettes etc from the on-site supermarket. There is also night-time entertainment, but it's housed in a separate building, so you can leave when you like and you won't have the noise going on until midnight outside the hotel, which can be another common problem if you have small children trying to get to sleep. The hotel also backs onto the beach, so the kids can be entertained by digging sandcastles. The hotel also has 3 pools, a long tube waterslide, a kids' club, a superbly ingenious mini-golf course and lots of sporting facilities - exercise classes, gyms, tennis coaching and table tennis. This hotel is just really, really efficiently well-run (think it's a German chain, which would explain its efficiency! also the mainly German guests), is beautifully landscaped, very clean and well-maintained and incredibly relaxing to stay at. Everything just works without hassle and as a result you come away feeling really relaxed and rested. I heartily recommend it! Pre-book your minibus/coach transfer from the airport otherwise it could be quite an expensive taxi ride.

For a swedish family like us with three kids in ages 3, 6 and 11 years old this was a perfect Hotel and place to be. Half board was excellent with a good variety of foods. Rooms a modern, clean and comfortable and quite large. Sorroundings are quite and beautiful. No annoying salesmen and tourist shopping. Kids disco mainly for germans, but fun annyway (But when will spanish people learn that german and swedish are two different languages? Speak english please!) . Best place on the Canary Islands for sun and relaxing!

Our priorities for selecting accommodation were quiet, self catering, sea swimming and a good base for walking and touring. Aparthotel Bahia Grande met all of those criteria and came in within budget. On arrival (much later than anticipated) we received an warm professional welcome. The apartment (not sea view) was larger than anticipated with views from the terrace across a beautiful cactus garden to hills in one direction and sea in the other. Apartment cleaning was thorough. The on site restaurants are excellent with good food and attentive, discrete service. The entertainment (especially the jazz band) just right. We did not use the facilities but gym, olympic pool, tennis, table tennis, crazy golf all looked good.
The Trip Advisor tip to hire a car was useful as was another hint - take a kettle. We took a small travel kettle but there was enough kitchen equipment to make simple meal preparation easy.
