I supposed I stayed out of season in Porto Moniz as this hotel had few guests and consequently I paid a bargain rate of just 43 Euros. This is a surprisingly well kept resort and I imagine most visitors were like me and there to enjoy the rugged scenery of the north coast, it made a perfect base for a nearby levada walk.

Our room was spacious with a sea view and wonderfully quiet at night, the only failing was that the cupboard I assumed to house the fridge was in fact empty. Breakfast was a very good buffet and I appreciated the real orchids that adorned each table. There was free parking right opposite the hotel so unloading and loading the car was trouble free. Also the hotel is close the aquarium which we visited and there is also a science museum, but it is the superb location and bargain price that I appreciated most.

Good value hotel with an excellent indoor pool - it's an inn so there is no service during the day as staffing is to a minimum. Bar only opens at 5.30 so if you need anything during th day you have to go outside... and when you do you need to choose very carefully (as some cafes/restaurants fleece the tourists with a big smile on their face!)

Stayed here in a Suite, The weather was awful for the week but the hotel compensated for it. Nice and quiet, clean and excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and all in all a really enjoyable stay. Would definitely return again.

Stayed at the Euro Moniz for 10 days over Xmas. A great modern but stylish hotel. Staff very helpful and courteous. The continental breakfasts were superb and really set us up for the day, everything you could want and very well presented, always fresh and tonnes of it !!

We had a Junior Suite and were glad of the extra room. Queen size bed (admittedly 2 beds pushed together.)
Our room had 2 balconies with lovely views of the mountains and the sea.

Maid service was every day and always excellent. Good bathroom always with scolding hot water and a great bath & shower.

Didn't try the pool etc but it did look very nice. Convenient underground car park, not loads of room so could be a problem if you have a large hire car.

Internet access if needed in reception. Roof terrace & bar open 18.00-00.00. Lift We were very pleased with this hotel, in particular the staff, cleanliness and fab breakfasts. Well done Euro Moniz !!
