“Full of character, great location - loved it!”

We would never have stayed at this hotel if we hadn't taken up a Groupon deal. We have stayed in many top international hotels and found the personal service and staff at this hotel exceptionally friendly, professional and caring. The standard room was airy; the ensuite spacious with a bidet which made us feel at home; sound proofing very good and we were left to enjoy our privacy even when we decided to relax in the room during the day. Pleasantly surprised by the provision of a free shuttle to and from Frascati train station with trains a short ride to Rome. Frascati is well worth a visit too. We thorouhly enjoyed our three course dinner with delicious wine. OK breakfast was not a full English but we were in Rome/Italy after all, and the quality of what was provided for a continental breakfast was first class. A 5 minute walk away is lively friendly pub with good draught brews, even Guiness. Next door to the pub is an excellent grocer/deli. Fantastic place if you don't mind mixing with real Italians! Price was very good. We found two people could eat well for as little as 18 euros. The local food stalls within walking distance provided amazing meals so eating good quality produce out was easy. Three days in a this perfect location was not enough. We were able to sleep well in this tranquil setting. We intend to go back as soon as possilble and are so glad we went with an open mind despite having read some of the negative reviews. Near to Rome but far enough away to enjoy the suburbs. On the negative side, perhaps it was because we stayed out of season the restarant was not operating fully and this forced us to eat out. Loved it!

Extremely kind and helpful staff, always ready to answer any request and to give advices. Nice location and beatiful garden. Room big enough and good bathroom, even if it was a bit old. The was quite noise when walking on it, but apart from this detail the room was good and silent. Breakfast was good.

“Suburbial Paradise - Romantic”

I was greeted upon arrival by smiling faces from the staff. Checking in was all simple and straightforward. All the mod cons you would expect. Room was spacious and excellent value for money. Breakfast lasts a long time, so was able to sleep in slightly. Dinner choice excellent and very fancy. Food was cooked very well. Walking or taxi to the train statio nearby therapeutic, not a problem. Leafy place Frascati. Nice views over the cliff looking at the grand landscape of the city. Frascati is the wine country and only half an hour train from Rome. You can get out early and back fairly late. My girlfriend was extremely impressed with the garden swimming pool and grounds. I have stayed in many places around the world because of work and really thought this one had that special staff. Mainly thanks to the hotel outlay, location and staff. I will be going back. Alex

“Beautiful Hotel with a few problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

I would love to give this hotel a 5 star rating but unfortunately was a bit dissappointed with our stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the location was great for hopping on a train to get to Rome in about 20 minutes. Don't stay in Rome! It is too crowded and hot so I do recommend this area. The price was good and they offered two rooms for our family of five. The rooms were decorated with antiques and high ceilings and we had a nice view of Rome from our window. Now for the negatives- The air conditioning was not working well so it was difficult to sleep and noisy with the windows open. Second the pool was green because the motor broke so we weren't able to use it during our stay. After a hot day in Rome it would have been nice. Also, there was a private party there so we couldn't have used the pool then anyway. They said they put chemicals and it had been fixed but it still looked green when we left. Aside from that it was a beautiful villa style hotel with very nice staff but I would probably choose another property next time. The villa Grazioli looked nice. One last tip, definitely eat at Il Fungo for the best steak and EuroAsia had the best Chinese ever!
