“In the ‘80s might have been great, but now it is a bit “sad”.”

As someone told before this resort in the ‘80s might have been great, but now it is a bit “sad”. It is clean but old and tired and the hotel stuff is rude…
We stayed in this hotel for one night last September (low season). We booked a “sea view room” for 130 Euro. They asked us to pay when we arrived so they could be sure we wouldn’t leave. The room was extremely small, looking the terraces of the other bungalows and only if you stand in a specific angle you could see the sea. We had to ask for another room...
The stuff was rude and the front desk man even described another guest to his colleague as “the short, stupid girl” (he knew we were listening). For sure this is not a 5stars behavior…
We saw 2 rooms and none of them was looking like the rooms in their webpage.
The location is nice if you own a car. Breakfast is very good.

“Once upon a time...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2010

...this hotel must have been one of the best in Greece. It was built in the 80's I think and it is obvious why it has received many international awards at that time. The location is superb, a little private bay 1,5 km after Loutraki on the way to Perachora. Pine trees and sea all around you- a miniature of what greek nature is. The hotel itself is a complex of many individual buildings among stone roads, paths and gardens. The age of the buildings is obvious but they are well kept, as well as the gardens.
So, we visited the hotel off season and we were given what I think they call a "junior suite", a spacious room (about 25 m2) just in front of the sea. There was only grass between us and the little harbour of the hotel. And the price for that scenery was 90 euros per night- we appreciated that a lot. Just have in mind that in the summer the price for such a room is definitely higher. The room itself was nice, a bit dated but ok. The bed (which is very important for us) was very good and we slept like stones till the morning. The bathroom was ok, clean but not the cleanest. The breakfast was a large buffet, everything was ok, but we must say the hotel had some teams staying there for the european kickboxing championship. I really don't know how the breakfast would be if we were just a few independent visitors staying at the hotel.
Finally, choose this hotel only if you have a car. Loutraki is near and still a beautiful town and also the city of Corinth that is about a 15 minutes drive away is a pleasant surprise. Don't miss the elegant and luxurious cafe-restaurant Dolce e amaro in Corinth, and also the very good restaurant Archontiko in Ancient Corinth's beach.

We had booked a bungalow with garden view. It was very nice but it had two beds and not a double one. The breakfast was rich but dirty and the dinner as well.

“will probably come back...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

Just visited Poseidon for a short weekend. We arrived without having booked in advance and we had a choice of 2 sea-view (as requested) rooms. After taking a look at both we decided on the panorama villa. The room was spacious, the bathroom even more spacious and we had a decent porch/balcony. Most of the sea-view was blocked by bushes but still it was quite nice.

All in all, I have no complaints: the staff was friendly and polite, the accomodation was decent and the resort is quiet with very nice surroundings.

What I enjoyed most was the pool area, the balcony and the very nice gardens/landscape.

I didnt think that the quality of the breakfast or the food at the pool bar was 5-star and I didn't like the fact that there was no wi-fi access in the room. Still though, I'll probably come back for a longer stay in order to experience it properly

“Tranquility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

Just back from a very enjoyable stay at the Poseidon Resort. There wasn't many foreign (english) people like myself staying. It was mostly Greeks, one or two germans and french. I stayed one week with the family. I had a bungalow Room 267 which was a bit of a clime up the hill from the beach etc but the amazing view of the sea was totally worth it. Thank god for air conditioning though, because without it would have been hell. It was ice cold and refreshing, It wasn't noisy at night either. Actually, everynight I slept very well. No noise from outside at all. Mind you, my bed was a bit firm and squeaky which was minor nuisance.
The hotel staff in this place was amazing. Always smiling and approachable. Many took the time to get to know you and remembered your name. Even the restaurant staff remembered my room number and my beer from the night before. They couldnt do enough for you.
I couldn't say this hotel is cheap, or a bargain and for that reason I couldn't recommend it for everyone, however excluding the weekend when the greeks would stay for the weekend it was a very quiet resort. Perfect if you just need to unwind or want some quiet time with your partner.
They have an amazing lounge bar at the top of the cliff that you can walk up to at night which is beautifully lit with soft lighting and nice soft music. If your on a honey moon this is a perfect hang out but be warned, its about 9 euro for a bottle of beer, and its quite a climb to the top by steps.
outdoor swimming pool is salt water but has fresh water just to the side of it to wash your eyes and mouth. Theres also a nice indoor pool if you need a break from the sun or want a little more privacy. Everytime I was there it was empty.
I loved this hotel as it has loads of watersports on location. Here i learnt to dive. For intro to diving is 60€ for about half day. Yanis is the instructor. Very nice friendly guy and explains things very well.
We also done a few days of Archery which I thought was very reasonably priced. 10€ pp for Maria to teach you everything you need to know and hit that bull and she brings water. Be warned though it has to be evening class about 7 because it has far to hot and exposed up there during the day. It takes place up at the very top of the resort in the tennis court. Its a long hard walk but if you wanted you could get a lift by the hotel golf kart. No golf course though. Loved the giant chess. Dont expect much from tv. You get english films but the reception varies from room to room. But I didnt really care about that.
Internet is 5€ phour. Food is plenty, and enough variety to keep us all happy. Although one night my food wasnt very warm and I left it and had salad instead. But it seemed a one off.
My mum and dad and bro, sis stayed in a studio room in the main building which didnt have much of a view at all but was very spacious and was a little bit more classy inside. It was convenient being so close to the bar / restaurant/ beach.
Mini Bar was a laugh. Firstly they gave me the wrong key for mine so I never bothered with it but my dads had an opened mars bar and nuts. Something to look out for. Plus I think the fridge was broke so it wasn't cold.
Overall, I had a great time here. If I was ever to visit again, I would pay 5€ for a taxi into town at night because there's so much to see and do. Miles upon miles of seafront bars and taverns that are much cheaper that the hotel and more life about it.
