we stayed at the penelope from the 4th oct till 11th oct 2011 in room 106. The overall experience was ok we met lovely people and the staff are wonderful. The location couldnt be better fantastic views and a gorgeous beach. The food was a let down, we had almost the same lunch and dinner every night (pork pork pork) the breakfast consist of baked beans (which were cold) and boiled egg with stale bread and a few selection of cereals. It rained for 2 days and we had to eat standing up in the bar or drag tables in which we crammed around. If you went in the pool you would come out blue not only because it was freezing but the paint had rubbed off. Our room was simple but for 3* it was as expected. But we made the most of it and had a lovely time for what it cost it was fantastic!

just got back an hour ago and its nice to be home , but i miss the penelope and all the nice people i met there . I had a good time at a very reasonable price ,the rooms were basic and the food repetative ,but what can you expect for about 20.pounds a day, i might add that the food was very tasty and i have put on a few pounds lol. i will definatly go back again. for a great value holiday and a very relaxing break i would recomend it to anyone ,(dont let them put you in room 114 though its like a dungeon ) look out for simons quiz nights and valuable prizes lol. and his famous whisky/brandy/rum a truly magical drink .

Literally arrived back home hours ago & we are fed up to be back in England already!
Lets be honest you are in Greece- Not KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN! We had a really great time, staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. Lets talk about the food- breakfast is basic, please do not expect full english- lunch is lovely, please don't expect 5* , after you have been drinking all day in the sun, please don't expect dinner to be 5 * either, if you do you will need to pay 3x the price. We have been to Stalida many times & stayed in many hotels & this is by far the one where you will get the friendliest welcome!
Why the title you may ask!!
This is a small hotel & the entertainment in the evening is geared towards the women winning everything, maybe because Simon is reponsible for the evening entertainment.

I just go back from the Penelope with some of my friends. We all agree this was the best holiday we have ever had. Our apartment had amazing veiws of the sea. The staff was so lovely, friendly and helpful. We made lots of friends and Rania was amazing. I have never been so sad to leave a hotel. We are already looking at prices for next year!! Would highly recommend to all type of holiday makers.
