“Nice place, but needs to be better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for the 6th time. The hotel has nice rooms and tries to give you a luxury experience. Overall they succeed but some things are not as good as they were.
The restaurant, changing its management, served a very narrow selection. Very friendly staff, good cooking and their nice wine suggestions sure helped. But it needs to be better!
The room is very good, but water pouring out of the shower door is not necessary. It will be taken care of during the next room maintenance, but it needs to be better.
Finally, the whirl pool was out of service in their very nice wellness area. It is polite to inform guests ahead fo this problem. That could be done by e-mail or on the website. Now only a piece of paper informed us of this. That can be done much better.
We wil certainly return, as in general it is a nice hotel, but we do hope that the technical side will be taken care off.

“You're not likely to regret staying here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

We stayed at the Parkhotel in the second wknd of January 2010 (despite what it says below, since the review date-selection doesn't go back more than 13 months). It was a €25 pppn package deal including breakfast thru HotelWeek.

We expected to have to park at a paid lot, but instead received a free pass for the cellar garage upon arrival, which was a nice welcome and as I understand not common practice at this hotel. Checking in went swiftly and smoothly. We were given a quiet room at the rear.

I had read jubilant reviews that spoke of very big rooms and dito bathrooms. However, our room was of a modest size, and although the bathroom's shower compartment was luxuriously big, unlike most other rooms the bathroom didn't have a bath. Probably each of their rooms at the end of a hall is similar to the one we had. We did wonder howcome we weren't naturally granted a bigger room, as clearly the hotel wasn't particularly full during this low season weekend. The room was absolutely clean, and so was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Everything including the carpet was as if new. The room breathed a stylish and comfortable atmosphere, as did the hotel in general.
The view from the window overlooked the roof of their conference hall below and the rooms across: not very exciting, but then again we weren't there for the view. I think most rooms situated at the inner side at the back of the hotel shared a similar view.
The blackout curtains were operated by a nifty electronic control panel on the nightstand, and so were all the light switches. The pretty fast WiFi connection in the room was free of charge. There's a wide selection of tv channels available if you're in for that. Staff gave us a simple city map and helped us pick a restaurant.

The central heating radiator in our room wasn't warming up properly from the first evening we were there. We reported it at the front desk first thing next morning. Staff was friendly and courteous. They didn't manage to repair it during our stay though, but at least they made several attempts. We could have made a bigger deal of it, but we like our bedroom cool anyway.

Breakfast was the best treat. We kinda felt the hotel flaunts with it, because of its explicit references to their Tripadvisor reviews on their website at the time. All stories are true: breakfast here was the best I'd ever had at any hotel: an abundant selection of anything one might imagine to have to start the day with, including local specialties and a cook ready to scramble our eggs along with ingredients of our choice. It wasn't a problem to overstay the breakfast timeslot.
We were also pleasantly surprised by the hotel's spa. The new and cosy looking sauna facilities were included in the price. All in all we were quite impressed with this hotel.

Room Tip: Do consider asking for one of the bigger rooms if you get a modest room like we did, providing it...

“A truly classy and luxury stay. I would live here .....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

A classy, elegant and luxury hotel without getting that "in your face" feeling. Rather modest with a immaculate taste for representing the flawless house style. We stayed at room#304 its a luxury class room. spacious and tidy and again very convincing elegant interior. The bathroom is just a reason to stay there. wit separate shower/toilet unit bathtub and elegant 2 person washing table. The staff is attentive professorial and very accommodating.
We enjoyed dinner in the on house Restaurant and where again wowed by the all over great experienced.
The in house Spa facility are fine too and for sure worth a visit to unwind and enjoy your stay in a elegant and stylish surrounding ( jacuzzi/sauna/fitness area and on request beauty treatments )
Breakfast is a true experience with local fresh products, rich choice for everyone. Its been a long time i have seen such a well catered buffet!
Further free WIFI .. parking in house not free, perfect located right in front of Station with connection to Cologne,Aachen, Bonn, Dusseldorf with 30-40min ......
In one sentence:
Dont hesitate, go ahead book your stay !! Its truly worth it !!!

Room Tip: if you can...... go for the Superior Luxury Suite.

“Good quality - a pleasure to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Friendly staff who helped us in from the rain - a very comfortable lobby with a good standard of comfort and presentation.
The room was as advertised - good quality furniture and finish to the whole room - this was a junior suite - a special end to our holiday.
The underfloor heating in the bathroom added an exta touch of comfort to a well laid out modern bathroom with seperate shower and bath. Lots of large towels plus bathrobes.
Being on the 4th floor - the top one in the hote, we had views out across the town - nothing really special but lots of light through the huge windows.
All in all, a good room, plus an excellent choice for breakfast.
