We had a groupon package for one night stay in room de charm. It was really lovely! Hotel is slightly outside of chambery, but managed to get thereno problem by bus(only to return u need a taxi). Its lovely located outside of all noises, park is beautiful even in autumn and has a lovely view. Our room was ok, slightly less glamorous as advertised but very nice. Very big bathroom with a nice big tub! We also got a bottle of champagne in the room, which was a great touch. The dinner at restaurant was a cherry on the sunday! For breakfast it was much bigger than standard in France so perfect. The place has a bit old style feeling, but that's the charm!!

We are a young couple and we went there last New Year´s Eve. We´ve never seen such a bad service at the restaurant. Bad food, very rude waiters and extremely slow serving dinner (more than 4 hours for dinner is unaceptable!).By far very expensive for the service and food quality offered. Totaly UNRECOMMENDED and DISSAPOINTING. We sent a complainning letter to the manager but no anwer got yet.

We had a lovely two-night stay at Chateau des Comtes de Challes. Our room was very comfortable. Only downside was that the fan in the bathroom wasn't working very well, so the floor got a bit slippery from the steam after two people having a shower.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The set menu available on a weekday evening was very good value at either €26 or €29. The service was a little sporadic. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we were there, so we would have expected the waiters to have been more attentive.

The reception staff were helpful. The setting of the hotel is lovely with a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy refreshments during the day or in the evening.

All in all we would recommend this hotel to our family and friends. We would certainly go back there again.

We stayed here during a family function. The hotel is set in lovely grounds, with easy access to the surrounding area. The staff were all very helpful, including with special requests for the children. The hotel and in particular the restaurant get quite busy (we visited during the European summer), but one can have the right level of privacy none the less. There is a pool, internet connection, excellent food. Some of the hotel's rooms are smaller than others, but all are comfortable - it's an old building which means it is not all standardised (part of the charm).
