“Perfect for WWII landings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

4 of us (all lads) decided to spend a week going to all the WWII related beaches, cemetries and museums around Normandy and this provided to be a good option as a base. We hired 2 x 2 bedroomed houses next to each other rather than all trying to get into one house - the brochure implied that 4 adults could have fitted into one house, but we are glad we did not do that. The rooms were clean and spacious and the lounge / kitchen area was a good place to plan out the next days routes over a few beers and glasses of French Wine. There were a few negatives - the rooms were not really cleaned throughout the time we were there so it was not so pleasant by the time we left; it was quite a long walk into the nearest town, Port-en-Bessin, which was a bit of a pain and it was also very dark on the roads between the town and hotel. It would have been ideal if we ate at the house the whole time but being 4 lads, we probably would have starved so we made the treck on a few evenings. The town itself was busy during the day and the Sunday market was great, but in the evening it was a bit quiet and options for a drink / something to eat quite limited. We had a car, but it would have been difficult if we did not. Only other minor things were that the designated parking for our house often had someone else parked in it, the swimming pool hours were a bit limited and early morning opening would have bee great and we arrived quite late and getting the passcode to teh safe so we could get our key was a bit difficult due to lack of mobile coverage and language skills when we got through to someone (who kept giving us the wrong code!!) It was possible to pre-order bread at the resort if organized. Overall, we felt it was good value and centrally based and I would stay again.

“A good place to stay when exploring Normandy”

We spent a week in a one bedroom, 2 bath, 2 level condo. My wife is an early riser and this layout allowed her to go downstairs and get some coffee as I slept a bit later. Location is ideal for exploring the landing beaches. We also made trips to Falaise and Mont St. Michel. Staff is great, very friendly. Wifi is available in the lobby near the pool.this was a nice, comfortable place at a very good price. I'd definitely stay here again.

“Good Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

Having been let down, we arrived here to a warm welcome. Very friendly and excellent facilities. Pity the wi-fi internet was only available in Reception, or, when closed, by sitting outside in the rain! Good value and clean.

“Excellent base for exploring Basse-Normandie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

Me, my brother and my mother went there for 5 nights in mid June. A really good base for exploring Basse-Normandie and probably an even better place for golfers (located a short stone's throw away from Omaha Beach Golf Club with two 18-hole courses) or families looking for sun and bathing. 2 outdoor pools and one indoor pool were very welcome as it was quite warm during our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable with modern kitchen (With a dishwasher!) and bathroom. There was even a washing machine in the bathroom, which must be great for families with kids or for a prolonged stay. Beds were nice and firm and we slept soundly. We didn't use a lot of the services offered, but the bakery service was great. Each morning we picked up fresh-baked bread from the very nice staff in the reception . Not far away is the beautiful town Port-en-Bessin with some really good restaurants. Hot tip for sea food is Fleur de Sel!

“Basic, but good quality accommodation at a reasonable price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2009

We stayed here in mid-September, this apartment complex is perfectly located for exploring the Normandy coast, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom house which could apparently sleep 4, but to be honest I would only want to stop in one of these with 2 adults and 2 children MAX as the houses are very small. The upstairs bedroom was large enough but the living space downstairs was very cramped and the sofa was not the most comfortable for watching TV so if you are planning on cosy nights in then this might not be the best accommodation for you! The beds were also uncomfortable.

The kitchen was well equipped although there was no oven which obviously limited what we were able to cook.

I know this all sounds quite negative - but the accomodation is very clean and if you can get this at a good price (which we did - £160 for 4 nights) then it really isn't bad at all. We had a very nice time here.

The site was very clean and modern, the pools were well maintained and I noticed there was a playground which would be excellent if you were stopping there with children. Although there wasn't a shop on site, the reception (which had very friendly staff) did provide a bakery service in the mornings which was very reasonably priced, and you could put your order in the night before.

One disappointment for me was that the walk in to Port en Bessin was partly along a road with no pavement or street lighting which made it a bit too dangerous for us to do on the way home from the restaurants etc. so we had to spend money getting taxi's back up the hill.

I would definitely stay here again, although I might also treat myself to a night or two somewhere a bit more luxurious to finish the holiday!
