4 of us (all lads) decided to spend a week going to all the WWII related beaches, cemetries and museums around Normandy and this provided to be a good option as a base. We hired 2 x 2 bedroomed houses next to each other rather than all trying to get into one house - the brochure implied that 4 adults could have fitted into one house, but we are glad we did not do that. The rooms were clean and spacious and the lounge / kitchen area was a good place to plan out the next days routes over a few beers and glasses of French Wine. There were a few negatives - the rooms were not really cleaned throughout the time we were there so it was not so pleasant by the time we left; it was quite a long walk into the nearest town, Port-en-Bessin, which was a bit of a pain and it was also very dark on the roads between the town and hotel. It would have been ideal if we ate at the house the whole time but being 4 lads, we probably would have starved so we made the treck on a few evenings. The town itself was busy during the day and the Sunday market was great, but in the evening it was a bit quiet and options for a drink / something to eat quite limited. We had a car, but it would have been difficult if we did not. Only other minor things were that the designated parking for our house often had someone else parked in it, the swimming pool hours were a bit limited and early morning opening would have bee great and we arrived quite late and getting the passcode to teh safe so we could get our key was a bit difficult due to lack of mobile coverage and language skills when we got through to someone (who kept giving us the wrong code!!) It was possible to pre-order bread at the resort if organized. Overall, we felt it was good value and centrally based and I would stay again.
