we stayed at punta hotel during 4 nights and it was enough due to horrible commons corridors and lifts, which can figure in movies style "trash and punk". Room (we refuse n°340 for n°517) was narrow (impossible to open 2 luggage at same time) but very clean, furniture tired and awful, beds are very low like japanese style, no fridge (you must pay an option) so when you open this door, it's plenty of electric cables), tv is very small. Swimming pool is just there for fun: ridiculous size for hundred people, even no chairs or umbrellas!
Positive points are: lobby, bar terrace, and restaurant renewed and very clean, the food is positively various (comparable to many hotels in Tunisia or Spain quoted 4* standard) . The location is fabulous as written, many visits and excursions possible, parking free and easy way to. We have visited all other hotels around, and Punta is the best of the category (the others are worse). If you want to visit this nice place, it's better to book at this hotel but the superior suites (quoted 4*) much more comfortable, ask for sea view (the other side is looking over the parking)

After reading the other reviews we booked 14 nights in this hotel as a last minute booking. What a mistake!
We booked 2 rooms together as there were no family rooms avaialable. the rooms turned out to be seperate.
The rooms were tiny and not very clean.
The beds were small and very uncomfortable.
The food was large canteen style. We weren't paying a great deal extra for half board so we weren't expecting a great deal but it was very poor. It was quite telling that they were promoting using credits to eat in one of the restaurants on site. Maybe they keep the half board quality down so more people eat in the restaurants?
The pool seemed dirty so we didn't use it.

The positives are the staff were friendly. The harbour of Veli Losinj is a nice place to visit and eat in.

We have just returned from our first visit to Croatia and what a great experience. Flew Easyjet to Rejeka. Hired car via EJ. Drove 40 mins to catch ferry to Lozinj Isle 30 mins (Ferries run about every 1.5 hrs depending on time of day. Drove further 1 hr to Veli Lozinj. Bit baren landscape first impression but it grows on you. Like going back in time in some parts. All easy to navigate as virtually one road only.
Hotel Punta booked via EJ excellent value for money. Clean and tidy throughout. Restaurant great selection for all tastes. Service throughout helpful and friendly.
Short walk from hotel to sea which is clear as crystal, great for swimming, snorkelling etc. No sand but rock/concrete pitch areas. Good pools and surround for bathing as well. Excellent music provided by resident group playing in pool area during each evening.
We had wall to wall sunshine 34c, but can ride bikes in surrounding woodlands or along seafront to Mali Lonsinj if weather turns overcast etc. Also indoor pool and tennis courts etc.
Veli Lozinj itself is a small harbour village/town with great atmosphere 5 min walk from hotel. Great in the evenings to watch activities and entertainment. Lovely fresh fish restaurants inc 'a la carte' in hotel.
Also visited Mali Lozinj and Cres which are beautiful, clean harbour destinations.
