I cannot say enough good things about Rick and Dorle's "Seaside Adventure." We joined them for a casual kayaking trip around the bay and stayed one night at the cabin on the island.
After taking a sea taxi from the Homer spit to Little Kayak Island we were greeted by a yodeling Rick. We were helped with our bags, got settled into our cabin, and were briefly oriented to the area. Next, we began our kayaking trip. The waters were incredibly calm and during our excursion we circled around many of the nearby islands- during which, Rick and Dorle told us all about the wildlife, sea life, and plant life; and cooked us lunch. Rick will talk your ear off, but he is incredibly knowledgeable about the local area. He also seems to be an avid photographer--don't get him talking about cameras!
The cabin was also amazing! No, there is not a bathroom, but it is otherwise well equipped. And the view off of the deck is breathtaking. Although there are other cabins in the area, it feels very secluded and very private.
If you visit Homer, I highly recommend A Seaside Adventure. It is a great experience and great value.More
