Myself and my Mother stayed there for one night. The rooms are clean. No frills to it and that's the way it should be as it is orientated towards pilgrims. The breakfast was very nice and the owners couldn't do more for us.

It is a good walk from Padre Pio Shrine however, there is a hotel shuttle bus which will bring you there and back free of charge.

Before going to San Giovanni, we were already in Europe for 2 weeks. We had terrible experiences on the unfriendly hotel staff, prison kind food, no internet.
This simple hotel in the quaint town of San Giovanni beat all the 4 star and business hotels that we stayed in.
They pick you up from the station, bring you to Padre Pio personally. The food is also delicious and reasonably priced. Internet is also free. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Kudos to Best Western :) Keep it up!

We stayed at this hotel because it sleeps a family of four which can be difficult to find in Italy without paying 150 Euros or more. Our stay here was to see the Shrine of Padre Pio plus the Monte Sant' Angelo Church where Archangel St. Micheal appeared about 30 mins. away. The hotel does have a shuttle which can come in handy as the church's location is all uphill. The service was great and the owners were extremely helpful. The room was spacious, clean, equipped with a refridgerator, free Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking. Great restaurant with a separate bar, pizzeria across the street and a supermarket 200 yards away to buy many items such as water, fruit or snacks at low prices. This is a quiet area and a lovely place to rest-even with an afternoon nap. The area and surroundings are filled with many churches, museums, monuments, historical buildings, districts dating back to the Middle Ages near to the National Park of Gargano with cliffs, beaches and a beautiful country side. We would stay here again if we come back to the area.

We stayed here to visit the Shrine of Padre Pio. Although it is a bit of a distance from the shrine and uphill, the brothers who own and run the hotel have a van and will take you up to the shrine and back. We believe they will take guests elsewhere (for a fee we presume) such as to Mt. Sant Angelo. The rooms were clean and of good size. The hotel also has an underground garage that will accomodate about 12 cars (they have more rooms but not all guests arrive by car). The family that owns and runs the hotel is extremely pleasant and helpful, probably the most friendly owners that we encountered on this trip to Italy.
