The Dohm is a pleasant enough hotel at first glance. However at second glance it starts to come apart. Threadbare, badly stained carpets in the public areas. Staff doubling up as reception, bar staff and ??? whatever they were doing when you wanted another drink. I'd love to tell you what the restaurant was like or the quality of the food, but the restaurant was closed in the evenings for the duration of my stay. There was a very nice member of staff serving a continental breakfast in the mornings though. When I returned to my room in the evening the room was really cold as whoever did room service had turned the heating down (it was January), when turned back up it took a long time to warm the room with its very high ceiling. The wireless signal for the internet was strong enough but i was unable to login after an initial session of 20 minutes when the bandwidth ground to a halt. There was a card in the room telling me the price of items from the mini bar, except there wasn't a mini bar?! I woke in the morning after a good sleep (the bed was very comfortable) to find the room was red hot (the heating had obviously started working during the night). I opened a window and turned down the heating and drank both of the little 0.2l mineral water which were on the table. On checking out I was charged €2.70 for each, apparently minibar prices even though I didn't have a mini bar. This cost was dropped when I complained. The staff were very pleasant and are the reason why the rating for this hotel is as high as it is.
